So, back on topic, is Area 51 developing the latest/greatest 2wd buggy & truck for 1/10 electric?

I know I would like to see:

1. Beefed up Front A-Arms
2. Bleeder shock caps on the shocks
3. The Plastic chassis included by default on the "Factory Team" kits since that is the common changed part
4. Quick Change rear setup on the T4
5. A slot on the chassis down the battery holder center that you can add in weight as needed for lipo packs or to biase the weight by not use to the battery to do it. Could be intergrated into the chassis somehow.

Thats about it I can see for now. Really not much, but with anything, you probably can improve it.

Joey: check your pm.

I dont own a B4, but after looking at them, how about updated CR style front carriers? I think the bearing in the wheel deal is pretty weak. Ive seen many snap theirs off or have the wheel fly off.

Good point...

Maybe verticle rear ball studs on the hub...but there isn't much to improve..

I agree. I racked my brain to find anything I wanted different. Only other thing I can think of is maybe going with a hex style wheel in the rear. I don't really like the hole pin thing, seem to have a better chance of binding up the rear pin to the wheel by missing putting it in correctly. With a hex or something similar like they do on the GT2, hard to miss.

really not much else.

What would I like to change about the B4/T4?
  • Bearings in front knuckles instead of wheels
  • Quick change front and rear wheels (no more pins!)
  • Outdrives with pin cushions (stock outdrives and pins wear out too fast). Heck, why not plastic telescoping CVD's!
  • Shocks like the RB5 (seals load from the bottom)
  • Aluminum front bulkhead, especially for the T4
  • Gear cover that seals better (3-point mounting?)
  • Better accommodations for brushless systems (motor mounting/gearing and ESC mounting on the B4)
  • Improved rear wing mount (two point shock tower mount so it doesn't keep coming loose)
  • Improved body mounting for B4 (single front mount kills bodies fast)
  • Front and rear wheels that run true and don't crack!!! PLEASE!!!!
  • Re-design battery tray/mounting to be more LiPo friendly
  • Offer softer spring set to help tune when using a lighter LiPo
  • Include battery strap thumb screws in standard kit
  • Metric fasteners
  • Symmetrical left/right arms
  • Pre-built turnbuckles

Cain, they have a conversion that bolts the gt2 quickchange right onto the T4. Sorry no B4 though. I didn't need it but dang is it ever nice now that I've had the setup for half a season.

This happened to me last race I attended. Why not a bigger front wheel bearing. The small bearing if fine for B4 but not for T4.

I've snapped quite a few aluminum B4 axles. The T4 comes with steelies, so I haven't had a problem there. I'll be making some axles out of 7075 soon, so we'll see how those hold up.

I just thought I would bring up this old thread because of a discussion that I read, which stated that the T4 front wheels are being replaced with the GT2 front wheels.

This is a copy and paste from the other thread. And mabie with this one it will stay on topic

.................................................. ...............................................

Not to stirr the pot, but does anyone think this may be a closer step to getting a b5/t5?

They are consolidating the front rims, to fit both trucks and on the FT Kits they are no longer including the Carbon Chassis. I know most guys changed it any way, and having the wheels interchangable makes sence because many drivers own both trucks. But why did they weight 5 ish years to do so?

Just a thought, all of the consolidating and changing of the kits or components could mean they are trying to use up what they already have on hand, because there scaling back on production in anticapation for a new release.

Though the T4/B4 is still on top of its game, it has been a number of years since the release of a new or updated Buggy or Truck.

(not including the b44)

Just a thought, that does have merrit.

I think they are making running changes to the B4/T4 IMHO. If you look at the packaging of the Rear arms, they are now B44/B4 Rear arms. Same goes for the rear hubs the B44 and B4.

I'm almost positive Associated will make a B5 and T5.
But the B5 will be out before the T5. Maybe dunno really?
Like it was with the B4 and T4. The B4 came out first...etc...

I'll wait 2 years before I buy a T5.
The T4 is still dominating the races, also is the B4.
But give it a few years and I wouldnt doubt Assocaited will do it, if
there is a high demand for a "NEW" design.

I waited for the B44 didnt I. And it was worth waiting for.
Some people just dont have patience.
