Any word on an Associated T5 or B5?

Associated goes by the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" mentality. The B4 and T4 just swept the ROAR modified Nationals.. and the Cactus Classic. So basically I dont think we'll see anything new unless some other design starts winning races on a consistent basis.
Just my 2 cents.

If you take a look back at ae in the past they have released updated kits when there is a need. When they haven't released updated kits there was a new car in the works. I realize that things may have changed under ttr, but if some one was smart they would start picking up the parts needed to update the t-4 to spec at whole sale and saling them in bundles.

There shocks have not really changed since their first set on th original RC10. Those loaded. The only real change was the seals being installed from the top rather than the bottom. Losi hasnt changed much either from the Jrx2.

i agree that associated wont be releasing any 2wds in the near future, the t4 and b4 are still pretty much at the top of the class, as nothing has really been able to dethrone the duo. with the coming of many 2wd buggies from other companies, at the most associated will prob release an "updated" buggy like they already have with the changes in shock bodies and shafts (btw love the new bodies and shafts, they look smooth on other buggies i have seen with them)
associated "don't fix what don't need it"
losi "fix it till it don't need it"

I have two issues with some of the comments on this thread. Obviously there's no one here in marketing
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Right. So if AE remain undefeated for a decade we won't see any progress? We don't think that other variables will affect the ever-changing requirements of a car (eg as someone has posted, taller body for brushless ESC etc)?
Secondly, companies (RC or otherwise) don't always bring out a new model just to 'fix' something that's 'broke'. They do it to make sales. If everyone is happy with their B4 and then AE release a B5, you think no one will replace their B4 because there's nothing wrong with theirs? There is a whole market of people (me included) that like to have the latest, even if there is no tangeable improvement!
I'm a good example. I've been out of 2WD class for a while. I recently decided to buy a used one. I went with a XXX-CR because I decided that if AE bring out a B5, then that would most likely be the best choice and the CR would be easier to sell than an outgoing B4 model - that and I don't think there's much in it between the two cars right now (but that's a whole other discussion!).
So just some food for thought guys, interested to hear other perspectives.

Good point about F1. Reminds me of hearing about way back, maybe early 1900's, when the patent office was considering closing because "everything had already been invented."
There are a lot of improvements that could be made to the B4/T4. Hopefully, all of the new 2WD buggies coming out will make manufacturers update their cars. I've got my eye on an RB5 already. Wonder if the shocks will fit the B4?

Associated won't put out a T5/B5 in the near future since the B4/T4 continues to dominate electric off-road. However....I think they should update the factory team kits a little bit. Why do they continue to include a carbon chassis and carbon a-arms in the kits when hardly any factory drivers use them? That just adds an extra $30 to the kit price by the time you swap them out. And would it kill them to throw some battery strap thumbscrews in there and a B4 body that actually accomodates most brushless speedos?

This may have been brought up before, I don't know, but why not begin designing a chassis around Lipo packs? Since a lipo is lighter, why not keep the weight limit the same, and beef up 1/10 scales, and give them the durability of maybe close to an 1/8th scale? With the power of today's brushless systems, wouldn't everyone benefit all the way around (except for the manufactures, who may sell less parts.
) I think that the next generation cars, be it B5 or T5 or RB-6 or XXX-CR2 whatever, need an overhaul to keep up with the quickly evolving/changing technolgy in the motor/batt depts. we are experiencing.
