Thanks. Could you use the 115 cutting bit to enlarge the motor hole and to remove the material on the sides for the turnbuckles?

Yes you could. I used both because I had them but if you have to buy new bits, then just use the #115 and save some money

Default Electric motors

Guys,

I am new to electric just started racing them this winter. I have a FTC3 and a T3 we race indoors on carpet. I run the FT in a stock class and my T3 in a 17 turn foam class, this is probably the best class because the guys are so willing to share tips.

What I would like to know is, if there are any good websites out there that I could read up on motors? Basically I want to know how to tune, clean what type of brushes and springs to use. Things like that. Everything that I have read so far is so vague I need some meat. Thanks

DRIVEN
I blueprinted my TC3 and posted a clip of the spinning test on my website. Click here to see it. Does all this work make the car faster? I don't know. This is still being debated. I guess it would affect runtime since it takes less power to keep the drivetrain rolling.
Mistercrash what bearing are in the tc3?

Factory Team has the Teflon Bearings.

I think all other TC3's have the Rubber Sealed.

Guys...I have the IRS Aluminum Front Diff. I had to buy it down at snowbirds because I was poping the CVD's out of the Diff down there and that was the only solution I could come up with to fix it. My problem is that now I have 2 hugh gashes in it where the CVD Pins press agaisnt it. What can I do to stop this from happening? I heard of Diff Savers that go over the Pins but I tired that with heat shrink and it was very very hard to get into the Diff and now my drivetrain is not as free as it was without the heatshrink. I use the composite bones.

thanks

Mike Webb, I wouldn't bet on this but the niftech swivel pins might help you.

Even cheaper, just use the IRS pin cushions for the plastic or al outdrives.

Well. I did the NTC3 swing mount steering. Not too difficult, but I would definitely recommend using digital calipers. Made it much easier.

ya i have been using irs pin cusions in the plastic and irs outdrives with excellent results. i think you can but a pack of 4 for 5 bucks or you can get the a set of 4 irs composite bones with the cusions installed for 15.00 i think.

I started out with a TEAM kit so my bearings are rubber sealed.

If you run aluminum outdrives, you need to run the IRS pin cushions.

Steel dogbone pins + aluminum outdrives = not good

I'm still using a pair of the non-blue IRS aluminum diff halves. They are 2-3 years old and have no wear because of the pin cushions. Too bad my suspension arms don't last that long.
