I'm in the market for a used 1/12th scale for carpet. What should I be looking for? Local club stocks AE parts, and corally. Is a 12L4 all I'll ever need at a club level? Minimum specs for a servo? I see a lot of used ones with hitec Hs225mg servos. Are they ok?

if your local club stocks only AE and corally (they should get CRC)
then get a L4 with a JR 3550 servo.JR makes them again and there cheap and work good. but the L4 is made for a fut servo, but it will work,i did it for years,

there is more to it than that.that just explains pod droop.shock length is another adjustment that controls the leverage point.you can adjust your shock length longer to smoothe the car out and still achieve your 0-1mm of pod droop and completely change the feel and reaction of the car.this is also true with shock angle.these are all really usefull adjustments.pod droop only controls so much.

the 12L4 is a great car.there is a ton of support for the car everywhere and it is a proven design.there are a bunch of upgrade chassis kits from a bunch of different companies for it if you ever want to upgrade also.you can not go wrong with it.

I run the Novak 4 cell GTB and the 4300 and it fits great...Need to move electronics around a little to balance it out.
