Sorry I didn't know that. I actually started modding engines at the same time as Uriah Murnan (we raced at the same track), so I guess I've been doing everything wrong all those years.
DAMN!

Info on the OS Speed motor: The Crank's exterior is specially coated to minimize friction, the crankshaft also features a large mixture passage "filled with silicone to increase crankcase pumping pressure".
Same goes for quite a few companies , not even modifiers who add in silicone to the cranks. I know ive seen them first hand and have removed the silicone to do my own job and there is no extra drilling to be seen. Some maybe drilled , but it doesnt have to be drilled to have more crankcase pumping pressure or find benefits from using the technique.
So yeah , one could lean to the fact that you might be.

Here is where the silicone is used. It does build a ramp that might help with gas flow, but that is NOT the primary reason to put it in.
If it doesn't do anything why did novarossi come out with a tunned version which the only difference is the flow ramp on the crank.

Hard to explain. Pull the silicone out of a JP crank and you know what I mean.

This what JP says:
EFRA Crankshaft The modified and lightened crankshaft is filled with the special red putty which is positionned to improve the gas passage. In order to reduce the friction and the wear, the crankshaft is HardBlack coated.
