I finished breaking in my STI last night. What a wicked powerhouse. I can't wait to let it rip at the GLC.

Hey Austin.....Sorry to hear that happening to you man...I havent heard of that yet....I would contact Kyosho America and see what they tell you....I would put motor back as is....they will probrably have you send it back...also the part your talking about is the very end of the crank were the collet sits on right....

well this will all depends on weather, type of fuel, what you have head shimmed at....I could not give you an exact or accurate answer without being at hand for the tuning....I would start at the factiory setting closing or opening depending on how the motor responds if its fourstroking lean it a little vice versa....hope this helps

What does the STI come shimmed for from the factory? I see two shims here. I imagine the copper one allows you to run 30%. Am I correct?

Nope.. if you run it at 30% with the actual shimming, you'll grenade it.. you need to add another 0.10 shim or depending the weather conditions an additional 0.10mm shim (0.20 total). Measure it with the solder wire how much clearance is and tell us with more security.

It's the stock shimming that came with the motor. I didn't add/remove anything. I imagine removing the copper shim and running 20% would be a bad idea as well?

yes it would be a very bad idea......if your running 30 percent you should be using between .40 and .50 total head shims......

Hey, i am looking for a new engine and was wondering if the Sirior EVO III is a good choice. I have a STS RS12(few years old) handmodded engine. Will i notice a performance gain over this if i buy the SIrio EVO III?
