I've put about 9 tanks through my Sirio EVO III, and i'm starting to lean it, but during break-in it was still running pretty hot. Around 250, even on idle. I richened te low speed alot to keep it cool, and lowered the idle. While on the track it kept reading between 250-275. is this normal??

Also, it's been 100 degress constantly in Texas, that could be a factor too..

With air temps of 100ºF (I want to suppose ºF...) having a engine temp of 250-275 could be considered 'a little cool'... What I've seen (and others who're been running Sirios for the last 3 years) is to put 100ºC over the air temp as the target temp of their engines for an almost ideal HSN adjustment.

Sirios like to run a little hotter... If you're leaving a smoke trail, idles great and their perfomance is good, why bother with the temp? each engine is different and will run at different temps. Writing into stone what temp could be considered hot and what temp is cold is a nonsense. Forget the temp and start to hear your engine, if makes the three conditions I told, why bother with temp?

But if you want to still take the temp as an absolute ceiling, ok... you can lower some degrees enrichening the LSN, but idling will load it and abrupt slowdowns on rpms can lead to a accidental stop of your engine.

When the engine decides that break-in is finished temp lowers (and is noticeable), idle quality improves a lot. Just remember is your engine who decides when is finished, not you... In your case, give it some more tanks and take a look on the temp... suddenly will drop.

I broke mine in and started to lean it out... On a 90 degree day, I couldn't generate any power below 250. My STI just like running in the 255, 260 range. It's not a big deal, it idled great, tons of smoke and the balance was good. I would go out there at 245/250 and come in at 260, I would say that's close to perfect.

You are going to get higher temp readings with the sti engines. The cylinder head is much lower so when you are taking temp readings the temp gun is closer to the glow plug wehn compared to other engines. I went through the same things as you guys have and I finally just put the temp gun away. Tune the engine by power, smoke and read the glow plug.

I broke mine in on a break-in stand.

Those temps after 9 tanks would make me feel like the motor is still tight and has yet to come in.....you should notice temps stabilize and motor continue to get faster....I feel the motor runs well at between the 240- 260 range havent tried to go hotter yet...make sure you look at the plug this will give you good indication if you are going in the right direction.

I want to know if some parts of the Sirio S12 evo3 can be used in the Sirio S12 evo2 (WCR version)?

- piston pin
- piston pin clips
They all have different numbers between evo3 and evo2.

I have the S12 Evo2 WCR and i want to replace the conrod. Should i replace the pison pin and piston pin clips as well? Some say yes, some say no.

you would have to check part numbers, but if there the same stroke. conrod, pistin pin and clips should all be the same.

about the pistin pin clips, i thought the same thing when i swapped my first rod do i really need to replace the clips... yes and no, its more of the case of having some as backup spares as they are easy to loose if you pop them out without extra care. not to mention if you put a slight whoop <- is that even a word? in one getting them out. i'm glad i had some spares i am still unable to find the first one i ever poped out of a piston

None of these parts are compatable from evo2 to evo 3, totally new engine.
Just replace the rod, save your money and buy the evo 3 , a much quicker and reliable engine.

Hello Sirio users, a few quick questions. I am awaiting the arrival of my new sti and I am wondering what glow plugs to use with it other than Sirio, they are not going to be available at my lhs. If there is no acceptable sub, where is a good place to order plugs from? I have nova, os, orion, dynomite available at all times, will any of these work? Thanks you.

Any one know what Turbo /Standard means in the specs, does it mean that both are compatable, Motor im talking about is Sirio .27 TX 9 port that fits a Revo
