I've been having the same problem with my JP .12 modified. I bought it for the sedan nats in crystal park and it cost me my first two qualifiers with DNS'. Anyways, I changed out to different carbs new and old with the same issues of overheating. Harry Hananouchi tuned my motors and set my clutch and it still did the same thing. I would go out to do some practice laps before the race, come in after 4-5 laps with a temp at 210 F. I then would take another lap and it would go completely flat with no power. Come in to the pits with a astonishing 310 degrees F . I've talked to other JP users and some of them claimed they had the same issues . I don't know what to do next which makes this quite frustrating. I have to resort to my 3 year old reliable MR12 TQ racing motor to complete races.

Same problem also happened to me. Piston was all black with carbon. Funny thing was temp was still good at about 210. It was good for 3 to 4 laps from start and then it would lose its power from thereon. Seems like it did not overheat but just did not have enough gas passing through.

Could someone assist

Regards

Anyone have the problem with blowing the seal out of the front bearing. My motor has right around a gallon through it and it has blown this seal. What is a better bearing to put in so this doesn't happen again?

Same happened to me. I haven't replaced my bearing yet, keen to hear what is a better replacement than the standard one though.

Only bearing I can trust replacing it with is the Nova Rossi #17006

Soon, I will stock custom made ceramic bearings for most of my engines. Front and rear. They are sure to be better than what the engine companies are using.

The 17006 is what the motor comes with from JP. I am not impressed with this one. I have never had a motor blow the seal in this short amount of time.

Hi guys,

I haven't ran my .12 JP (forgot the model, black crankcase, purple heatsink, SX12 or something on the side) for about 3 years. However, I put after-run oil in it and made sure nothing got into the engine during this time.

Any tips before firing it up after 3 years of no activity?

Thanks

Default JP FX 21 R03

Hi Guys,

I need to replace the piston/sleeve and rod in an FX 21 R03 engine and don't want to buy the JP parts as the engine is well worn. Can someone tell me what Novarossi p/s/r can be used as a substitute?

Thanks
