Just transfer your tub setup onto the FTTC4 and I am sure you will be happy with it, then work from there.Thats all I did with mine and it now holds the track record in it's class. The cars are not to dissimilar the FT is alot more constant lap after lap.

I found the 3 racing shock tower mounts bind the bearings as well. You need to grind short some screws to stop them binding up the bearings.

I am not sure if the 5 mount holes are any better than factory or not.

They seem to be in the wrong place, the mounts are in between the AE options and the front holes are quite a bit more upright than the rear shocks if you try to run the same hole all round.

I think I prefer the AE options for shock mounts, just feels the same on all four corners of the car.

However, the 3 racing camber link mounts I think are much better than the AE ones, because they are one piece.

You don't need four mounting options for the ball stud, never seen any body use the outer two anyway!

Hey guys finally got to work on my setup a little this weekend. Car was awesome, driver sucked LOL. Here's where I am at.

purple springs
inside on arm
3rd hole out on tower
camber - 2nd hole out silver ball stud 2 washers
4 deg castor
4mm ride height

steering rack - silver ball studs no washers
2 shims in front of arms
no shims under blocks
thickest sway bar
Double Pink/Orange

Rear
60 wt losi oil
2 piston
copper spring
outside on arm
3rd hole out on tower
camber all the way in black ball stud no washers
inside on hub (switched back to AE hubs)
no washers under blocks
4 mm ride height

double pink
no sway bar (this made a huge difference)
Team Express Monster geared 37-96

Next week I plan on trying to raise the rear roll center by .025 to get some more rotation.

Yes its a setup for the FT. The tub car will need softer setups. Chassis twist/flex will play a big role in the handling... or lack thereof... for that car. Stiffer setups in general work best on a stiffer chassis. You have to take into account roll center too... alot of people look at shock position and spring choice and instantly see "stiff", and dont take into effect the camber link positions/hingepin block shims.

Thanks for the insight guys. I hope to get teh FT conversion in a few weeks. For now Im going to grab a old tub setup from ae's site and start from there. Its the steve rossi setup. I chose it because is a tight track like man and he used jack the gripper instead of paragon which is the new rule here. I think its a great start. I'll keep you guys posted.

If you are running a FT car then try Dave's setup. If you are running a BMI car then you can try mine. I'm sure either will get you a good starting point. Hell try them both and compare

They have been out for 3 or 4 weeks now. The local shop has had them also. Thats not saying they might be sold out at this time.
Check around, you should be able to find one.

Hey Walter, Have you ever tried running the outter hole on the steering knuckle? I want to angle the steering turnbuckles forward but I can't add any shims to my steering rack. The BMI chassis has the Servo moved forward so I can't do anything more than just a silver ball stud with no washers.

For those socal locals... there is a Socal Raceway setup posted on the AE site... for those who aren't local to the track, its a relatively unique racing surface but general speaking its high-bite asphalt.
