Your R4 will probably accelerate better with 17/60 and 22/55...Lower gearing sometimes hinder acceleration...

I run 16/60 21/55 for the tracks here in Florida , i believe the 17 tooth is better big tracks with long swipers a long straight away ,

There is a sweet spot for these .12 engines where the car accelerates better: it's usually around 7.0 to7.2fdr for the first gear and 4.8 to 5.0fdr for the second gear...Any gear higher or lower just causes overreving or lugging of the engine without really improving the vehicle's acceleration or top speed on a standard rc racing track, unless you have unlimited space like the lostallo massive track....

The setup i ran with the help of Chris Tosolini ,setup was on point didn't have touch the car ,and the clutch was setup by Diatta ,and tune was done with help on Jerry G, tires were Hotrace white rims,I will doing the Winternats in February but I will post my setup soon.ps any have any r4s they are wanting to get rid let know thanks.

Ahahahah.......Nice to hear the great results in your race with the 5minute Picco evo3 versus the current crop of 4minute engines. Maybe the picco would have been faster with the 17/60 and 22/55 gearing, but at least we now know it can compete easily....Good luck at the next race...Change the rod before the main next time !!! MWrc products might still have these conrods in stock....

17 tooth ddidn't work ,the traction was super high and i used the Balestri Blood tire sauce, so 16/61 21/55 was perfect for the 220×100 track and you to have a good strong punch off the corners, anf with the sweeper onto the straight away ,so i focused more on the Picco,s bottom end torque .Running locked front diff with 100,000 in the rear.
