Just got mine less than a week back and was setting it up and ran into a couple of mysteries:
1. On the website it has it has handle vibration, but there is no mention of it in the manual, or in the menus that I can find.
2. On the website it says it supports usb game controller mode, but again zero mention in the manual on it.
I'm wondering if these 2 features were mistakenly put in the documention or what. maybe future firmware update? I saw there is a new firmware update out of Japan last week but doesn't mention either of those two things unfortunately.
Other than that, I really like it. I'm replacing an old 4pls I've been using for like 7 years, so it was time. I could have bought a 2nd hand 7pxr for less but i didnt want to buy another discontinued model, and wanted something new. I didn't really want a touch screen either, although I dislike the jog stick. My only real want in a radio was more than 4 channels so I don't need high end.
I've never owned a high end futaba so I can't compare quality feel, but the only thing I was disappointed about quality-wise upon initial look over is the plastic lanyard hoop. You can flex it with your fingers. Kinda feel like that part should be metal. makes me a bit nervous.
Traditionally the "pv" line was always cheaper, maybe the "v" means value who knows.

So I got this radio 2 days ago. Played with it a little last night. It feels nicer in my hand than the 4pm. A nice upgrade. Looking fwd to some actual play time. Run time with a car with this. Nice job futaba.

I dunno about the first part but the lack of video game support i think is real, I've had my 6PV for 6-7 months since I ordered mine from Japan months before the US release. There is no USB port on the 6PV so I don't know how it would even connect to the computer.

Mines requiring a fs-rm005 module or flysky mini z adapter to run mini z. I think that is usb?

I emailed futaba and they didn't respond. I'm gonna try again.
I was gonna buy one out of Japan but then I read that if it ever needs service, they can't do it in the US (where I am) because it isnt a North America model and has to be sent to Asia.

Get yourself a cheap receiver from Corona or Dasmikro and a VRC adapter. The VRC adapter can easy be made from a mini Arduino. Github is full with it.

I have the module in my 6PV for my FHSS mini-z, its not USB

The manual says there's a USB port on bottom to charge a lipo but it's just an empty door to the battery cover lol.

There is nothing there, Futaba lately has been a total let down when it comes to tech help. I called about a few things regarding the 6PV and i literally got the answer "i don't know i have never taken one out of the box". It’s like dude..... seriously. Also you are correct if the JPN 6PV fails they will not fix it. I bought mine new 6-7 mnoths ago on ebay for 350 bucks shipped with TWO RX's. At that price point i said screw it and got it. I know they are still cheaper to buy on ebay from japan but no where near that first price point.

I emailed a rep abiut the 2 missing features and they said they'd look into it. I'm curious to see what he finds but it doesn't matter, they simple aren't there. So many are switching to the noble that does twice as much for a third of the price and I can see why. I never thought I'd say that id consider switching brands but after my 6pv's life is over I'd consider a jump to Sanwa but the thought of having to get all new receivers and re set up everything is tough.
As far as the 6pv usage goes, I love it. Big upgrade from the old 4pls. I don't anticipate having any issues for years, and I already have a USB receiver adapter so the lack of USB interface is a non issue for me. The vibrating handle I can live without. I don't know if I'd use that anyway. The only thing I dislike is the cheap plastic lanyard loop.
