If youre happy with your current battery and it still performs good, try those brass/steele battery plates. They are about 15$ and you don't need to buy a new lipo for 70-90$.
I recently added a few tungsten weights wich i taped to the chassis, but these are quite expensive

For me the current minimum weights are too high in many reglements. Its a bigger headache an more expensive to stay above the minimum weight instead of trying to get below.

I like the current trend of steele chassis very much, and it should make this search for weight a non issue. Hopefully it is ready for the winter season.

Yea I would run a bigger battery just to reduce the power fade over run. I wouldn't worry too much about the lost nimbleness of a bigger battery. Even at finishline I still run a big pack and still have great rotation for my liking.

Quoting the capacity isn't that meaningful without knowing whether it's LiPo vs LiHV or even the brand as that can make a big difference as to how heavy the pack is.

In general when running mod I use a battery around 240g and stock I'm around 280g.

Finished my build last night. Everything went together quite well! Little more time consuming than other kits I have built due to the amount of parts. The no breakin ball cups are a nice touch but I am mildly concerned about losing alignment from minor impacts.
I had one issue with the rear dog bones. The pin was pressed to the incorrect distance and made it impossible to attach the E clip on one side. A quick beating with a hammer and I was able to get it centered up properly.

That might be a tolerance issue but the design overall is solid. I never had issues with them falling apart as long I made sure the clip was seated correctly. Just carry spares just incase it falls apart on you.

Any further news on a steel chassis coming as an option part? I've only seen it run publicly on Cruz's car.

Personally I have zero desire to run a steel chassis. Steel bends and I'm not about to tear down the car and check the chassis for tweak every time I take a hard hit or crash. I'll save the High Grade Alloy Steel for my screws...LOL

Aluminium bends more than steel...

Has anyone reported bending the 1.5mm aluminum chassis? I know it was a hot topic upon prototyping. But real world issues?

I know a friend's one was bent out of the box, they had to send him a new one. It had warped where the chassis was thinner at the motor cutouts.
