Several years ago I even became club champion with a simple Futaba S3001 servo. But yes, many todays 1/12 servo's have enough specs to run it in a 1/10 touring car.

Its not as bad as it looks. I quite often use it at home as well if I'm just swapping a motor instead of setting up the temp controlled Weller.

At work if/when I need to solder, its so nice not to have to grab extension cords and find somewhere close by to plug in, just connect the battery and flick the switch.

You know I just remembered I do have an M12 battery or two. I always thought it looked awkward as well and it sure isn't cheap because Milwaukee. Hmm this is an option though...
