Swapping out electronics (Removal tips?)
#1
Not sure if this is the best place to post this.
I’m switching from Sanwa to Futaba. Are there any tips for removing the receivers from 1/10 off road vehicles. The red 3M double sided tape is holding really strong. I don’t want to damage the receiver or scratch the electronics trays.
I’ll also be swapping out ESCs for my stock spec cars and have the same challenge.

I've recently had issues since buying some new doublesided tape, it's really strong - great at its job obviously! I even damaged the casing of a receiver trying to get it out of a nitro receiver box. I've found a nice small prying tool which does the job (from a kit for car bodywork/bumper repair) which I'll keep close from now on, but really anything with a wide L-shaped tip will work. Just be patient and don't use excessive force.

Alcohol worked wonders to loosen the servo tape. I didn’t want to apply heat to the ESC and receivers. I also remembered I have plastic pry tools for removing Apple device screens, and automotive interior plug removal tools. The combination worked well across 22x-4, 22SCT 5.0, and B6.4s.
Word of caution. The alcohol turns 3M red label double sided stick tape into a gummy mess while it’s still wet. I ended up waiting for it to dry before removing the left over tape residue from the mating surfaces. Then a final cleaning with rubbing alcohol on a lint free cloth.
Thanks all!
