Sanwa-compatible receiver thread

to be honest, the price difference of this clone to a sanwa original, say 493i, is just slightly half in some places elsewhere. i would go for the genuine for my next purchase as my servo is sanwa's PGS and i want to play around the SSL.

Where these fit in is in a few smaller 1/18th scale oval cars that can't run any of the SSL stuff. I've noticed (unrelated to the clone) that when switching from an FH4 receiver car to an FH5 receiver car on the radio, the 4 will have a blip of throttle if it is still on. The car is left on after a race to allow the fans to cool it while I am in another race. Anyway, id like to prevent that little blip by having all my oval cars on FH5 receivers.
Once again, thank you for being a tester and reporting back. I'll continue to follow.

I used my multimeter and observed voltage dips down to 5.5V before it cut out. The older receiver didn't cut out despite dipping to 5.4V. Dasmikro lists the operating voltage range as down to 3.5V so either it's failing to meet that, or the multimeter can't measure the spikes fast enough.

Most BECs supply 6.0V nowadays. Often you can increase this up to around 7.2-7.4V for quicker and more powerful servo movements - but if your electronics are not rated for such higher voltage, they can get damaged (at least over time).

Normally if it is a clone, then it should be as fast as stock Sanwa's. If it is a redesigned(software) compatible receiver, then we need some test data...

if it is a clone and talking about a "clone", it is not an identical clone, at least, the SSL with Sanwa PGS HR servo on FH5U is faulty. then someone may doubt if it is as fast as genuine.

yes, i do have a genuine sanwa 491 by FH5, SSL, SUR moded PGS XRII in my Infinity IF18-2 and XR in my MRX6X, however, tried FH5, "SSL" SSR PGS HR didnt work, FH4T "SSL" SSR PGSHR didnt bind.
my self funded quality assurance for this "clone" in terms of Function Test , SIT and UAT are done which just ONLY works in FH5U, SXR PGS HR.
With that said, no real response test on the working mode for my existing HR servo can be made per my human perception.
above for reference and viewer discretion only.

Any other feedback from anyone trying the FH5 clones? My replacement unit was lost in transit, so it might be a while before I can try another.
FH4T won't bind, receivers support FH4 or FH5, not both.

Had a chance to try out a DasMikro FHSS-5 receiver. Used it in FH5 mode will SSL with a PGS-CX2 servo and CODE10 worked as expected. I also tried it with SXR in FH5U mode and it also worked fine (I honestly can't tell the difference between SUR and SXR). I didn't experience any signal loss, clipping or other oddities. I also compared its range to a real Sanwa 492i, and it was pretty much the same. I haven't tried FH5U with the PGS-CX2 in the SSL port, but I'll try it over the weekend.
I'll still run original Sanwa receivers in my competition cars, but this looks like a nice alternative for bashers and some of my 'fun' chassis.

I have been using the FH5 clone for a while it works just fine no issues with it
