Now that is a proper livery! Seeing that level of detail never gets old.

A friend at the ROAR indoor Nationals just posted that the USGT belted tire is the new spec tire. Is he correct?

glennhl i hope so. the current unbelted ride spec tire balloons after wear and exposure to traction compound. this causes traction rolling on carpet.

Not saying your friend is right or wrong, but this is what is posted on the ROAR website:
CARPET ONROAD RULES REMINDER
February 23, 2022
As Carpet Onroad Nationals approaches ROAR wants to remind racers that the minimum weight for Touring Car was changed in February 2021 to 1320 gms. Also, Lipo batteries with a nominal voltage of 3.7v or 3.8v per cell are legal but maximum charge voltage remains 4.20v per cell for all batteries.
As announced earlier, the VTA and USGT exhibition classes will use rules from U.S. Vintage Trans-Am R/C Racing Series for consistency with other major races. Also, for consistency with these other major races we will not enforce the minimum body weight rule found in those rules nor will we enforce the requirement for a driver figure in VTA.
No mention of a deviation of the Spec Ride / Gravity tires (RIE24025).

Yes, I did a little research when I read his Facebook posting and found the same statement. Only thing I figure is someone decided they wanted to try out the new belted tires and ROAR used them as handouts at the race. I was hoping by posting on here one of the racers that ran USGT at the ROAR Nationals would chime in. My friend only ran 1/12 17.5. robk, care to comment?

The reality is that the shipment of the current tire was held up in transit. The belted tire was available in quantity, so it was used as a handout tire, as everyone would have the same product. Up to this point, testing had been positive, but the idea was to introduce the new tire in a way that would cause the least disruption. From what Paul has told me, he is only going to make the belted tire available on the gray rim, for handout races. This may change later, but that's the current situation.

Hopefully the belted tire will be phased in quickly. It would be nice to have a tire that doesn't balloon so I won't have to keep adjusting ride heights and droop settings. Here's a photo I found from the ROAR Nationals showing the gray rims.

Yeah I hope so, too. My current USGT tires are starting to lose bits of rubber from the tread and I'd like to get a couple sets before they go kaboom.

Anyone have any painted Exotek P1-Z pics? I can only find two online and they’re both black.
