USGT
Let me just say that USGT spec motor can take a lot of gear. On our local indoor track 2.8 FDR seems to be just about right. On the large outdoor tracks, I'm seeing 2.3 to 2.5 and on the largest of tracks I heard the state race winner was under 2.0 and had to make chassis mods to get it done. That's just what I'm seeing and hearing here...if it helps.

It's just more planted over all for me. I was practicing with the 'newer' sets at SD and the track definitely felt slippery (loose and pushy). I swapped to the balloon sets just to confirm and the car was great thereafter. But yeah, I try and save the old sets for the races. I haven't bought new sets of Gravity tires in years. Carpet racing I hear is the opposite.

Glad I saved all those tires for asphalt. After seeing your tires I feel better about my wear on the asphalt.
I was thinking mine was excessive looking like yours. Thanks for the pictures.
I find worn in tyres to work well on black carpet. The trick is to not allow them to balloon however. Ive achieved this by only using SXT for cleaning the tyre and prepping tyre for race. Any other product combination makes them Balloon
Pro tip-

For medium/low grip asphalt the more ballooned the better and comes about naturally with many miles of use with lots of traction sauce used. The ballooning creates an airgap that helps with the traction. These beat up 3year old tires, even with the grooving, are .5 seconds faster than my newer ‘flat’ sets.

EXO6. As you noticed, cosmetic reasons. Didn't notice any difference on asphalt. If I did it's psychosomatic.

lol can't really make the tire that way unless you soak them in sauce then spin them up on 3 or 4s to stretch them. Still won't have that inner wear, sanding the tire is illegal.
Soaking them is totally possible, and if you want to use the insert, you don't have to centrifugate, you can make them roll by two on something hard... And it will be very hard to detect sanded tyres from used tyres...
Sanded tire rule is bogus. Only way to enforce/control it is to mandate new (marked) tires be bought at the event. Which may happen at organized big races.
Otherwise at club races, sand away till your hearts content. Altho it’s really not needed with the rite sauce and warmers. Mighty Gripper Yellow is what I hear.

Isn't there a rule in place that tread across the face of the tire must be visible? What's keeping everyone from just sanding down to slicks and ballooning your tires? Pretty sure our track had or has a rule that all tread must be visible

no one is really checking those. After about 3 race days, the siping on the fronts look smaller and shallower anyways.. Should wear to semi slicks within the summer race series.

Try the next firmer rear spring and see what happens.
