so i downloaded a trial version of parallels. it's a bit clunky, but it worked for what i wanted which was to download/open/use the software for this servo. for that, it worked like a charm. enabled SSR on the servo and increased the PWN to 95%. as for the soft start, it doesn't seem to work as i thought it would. when i power the esc on with the wheels turned, nothing happens. when i give it steering input, it then slowly goes to center then operates as normal.

Default New servo

Well....I ordered my new servo for my soon to order Tekno eb48 2.0. I was gonna get an AGF-RC servo but I went with the Power hd B4 servo. For the $66 price tag you get a pretty good servo. Power hd upgraded the gears in them from titanium and aluminum gears to titanium and steel gears. So it should be strong enough. I had to email Power hd to confirm this. I like that they come with a 2 year warranty. Should serve its purpose as I am only a casual club racer.

Certainly a good servo for the price....what I dont get is that people actually think titanium is better in a servo...well have a look at this then---last post on the site >https://www.robotshop.com/community/...-5980/15939/11

Yeah I know titanium gears aren't as strong as steel gears. I have used Power hd in the past and have been really happy with them. The specs on the B4 servo aren't bad either. Maybe I'll buy an AGF-RC servo in the future to compare the two.
I lucked out....my Power hd B4 servo that I just received does in fact have the titanium and steel gears. I emailed Power hd the number on the middle case and they looked it up. So hopefully it will be strong enough for my Tekno eb48 2.0. Time will tell, I think it will be.

the more stages of gears you have in a servo the higher the inertia and friction gets. the higher the inertia the more difficult it is to stop and start on an exact position. I think some titanium is as strong as some steel. lighter gears = less inertia.its a premise based on science. there are allot of ifs in the statement though which could leave it firmly in the realm of marketing but then again...

I like the AGF. its precise fast. and positions well with plenty of torque. it has not made a drastic improvement but I like it, it works, and its durable.

I wouldn't recommend JX anymore in all of the tests RC Servo Reviews and RC Review on YouTube have done they're wildly overspecced. They don't even come close to their torque ratings.

I have many JX servos working really well. But this in particular did not last a race.

would this fit?

I just checked my race log and after 39 race days (plus lots of practice) I finally had my first issue with the A80 in my SCT410.3

My son just got back into racing after taking a 7 year break, so he's a little green and hasn't been the cleanest driver so the past 7 of those race days were driven by him exclusively. Anyway, last race day I noticed that the servo was locked up after I turned off the truck. The servo worked perfectly fine, but just wouldn't let you turn the servo arm with no power. Then last night I noticed there was a ton of play where the wheels would wiggle until the servo was locked up.

So I just pulled the servo apart and found that the main center pin had snapped just above the bottom gear, nothing was stripped, I just needed to replace the broken pin (1.6 x 13.5mm), fortunately they include these pins in the replacement gear sets! I have opted to keep using the original gears for now, after re-assembly I confirmed there was no slop anymore and the servo arm can move freely with the power off.

It does if you need the rated torque. Futaba, AGF, and Power HD have all been shown to give pretty accurate ratings.
