My AGF Servo programmer arrived today and I started playing around with the settings and took some of my notes on it here:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...0#post45785491

Most notable things:

1) Default servo angle is 138° but you can expand it up to 255° with the programmer (increase throw)
2) Default damping factor is 90 but can be increased to 600 (slow down servo speed)
3) Default PWM power is 78.4% but can be increased to 100% (increase torque)

This might as well all be in chinese. Lol. I don't understand the functions of the servos well enough to even adjust them. Is there any significant gains from these adjustments or is it better to just leave well enough alone?

If you use a Futaba radio, then it might be worth enabling the Narrow Band, if you run Sawna, then consider enabling SSR, if you don't understand what the other 9 functions do, then then don't touch them. I listed the 3 most useful features to me.

I do run a futaba 3pv so I would run the narrow band? What exactly does that feature do?

For sure i enabled SSR on my sanwa MT-44. everything looks cool at this point, which is all bench testing. i haven't even run it in the street (street testing tires/wheels on the way). so far so good with the A80 or whatever it is.

I don't run Futaba (or Sanwa) but there is a good explanation on Narrow Band here:

I really hate to promote anything from Reefrc but here is a nice explanatory clip....its the exact same programmer then the AGF because they only rebadge it .

with my A80, i didn't get the wire to connect the dongle to the servo, just the servo, servo hardware, and the dongle.

Eehm...you connect the servo with the esc wire to the dongle or not ? No extra cable needed..well at least with my A80,A73 and others. I dont know about the 12V servos though. Sorry the video is in German but you will get the point

This is in an EB48 2.0 where the servo and esc wires are held down by some plastic pieces on the side rail. Was tricky to get both wires under the holders. Not enough slack left over to plug into dongle. I was able to find a servo extension wire in my box of random stuff so i should be good.

On my EB48 2.0, I have opted to cut those wire guides off the side rail, it was a PITA to re-route the wiring when doing rebuilds, I had accidentally got the servo wire tucked under the servo tray which pinched the wire and made a clean cut. I've since used double-sided tape in the channel slot behind the servo to prevent the wire from sliding out of place and no more fuss with routing the wiring along the rail.

As far as using the USB dongle goes, I completely remove the servo from the car to program it once and that's it, not really sure what needs to be programmed on the servo after it's installed in the car, at least for what I need out of the servo where the only 2 settings that I've changed from default are maxing out the PWM Power and enabling "Soft Start".

I was tempted to increase the servo angle, but my EPA is already at 94% with the steering stops removed so don't really need to add any more throw as it is.

it was a PITA, thus my not wanting to pull the wires out and do it again. next rebuild, i'll take your advice. the servo extension wire will work fine for what i need in the meantime.

I'd like to get in there and enable SSR for my sanwa, enable soft start, and put the PWN at 100. going to have to dust off an old laptop (all of my current computers are apple). not looking forward to it...

I don't own a Mac (and probably never will because I'm a cheap bastard), but if I did, this is the first thing I would do:

MACs are for people who dont work with computers on a daily base ....anyhow , it should be a breeze to connect the dongle to the Windows machine
