I believe I switched to 64 pitch, but they were also Kimbrough, just black in color. Let me dig out my TC3 and see.
So the last time I ran the car I was using a 72T Kimbrough 64 pitch. They are the same spurs that we were using for pan cars like 1/12 and F1.

I'm not sure about the Xray spurs. I was using the white Robinson Racing spurs at one point.

But a 72T 64 pitch spur is much smaller than a 72T 48 pitch spur is it not? Because of that, with a 72T 64 pitch spur I could fit a much larger pinion than with a 72T 48 pitch spur. Granted you can run a small 48 pitch spur like a 52T, but if memory serves, those were harder to come by, and you don't get the potential benefits of the smaller gear pitch as well.

I have a 55T 48p Robinson Racing spur in my TC3. When I fit my 43T pinion, I get down to a 3.2 ratio.
Regarding the benefits of smaller pitched gears, sure. That's a valid reason. "48p won't fit" is not.
That's why you use a 54 or 55T 48p spur to replace a 72T 64p spur. Take your 64 pitch gear, divide the tooth count by 64 then multiply by 48, and you get your equivalent sized 48 pitch gear. You never just look for identical tooth counts when changing pitch.

Have another question. My used kit came with a bunch of front block carriers. Looked them all over closely, but see nothing that says 0, 2, or 4 degree on them. 3 do have white out 4l or 4r on them. Any way to tell the difference?
.they must be the plastic 0 deg C-hub..no need to have Left or right mark
OVA You just trolling thus thread time to time?

Actually I have the TC4 with the Kaizen with ton of modification done
