Also check what wheels are you gonna run, if you run losi style wheels you are good to go if you run AE wheels you will need +1 hex hub for the front (TKR1654X)
Running the fan with the kit fan mount on the side keeps our motor a lot cooler than when we ran it on the carbon top fan mount on the old eb410, it gets the cool air from the outside!. But when you run the top mount fan all your get is hot air from inside the body compartment. Kinda like cold air induction :}

Ya, I was just looking for solutions to making a better 13.5 car w/o sacrificing bearing/diff life. I would've gone with MIP driveline, but it's not a thing anymore. So a couple people suggested the Exotek spool to lighten the driveline. We will see.

I would just tune the diffs, & motor & gears for the track. Just trying to understand your meaning of sacrifice, while not understanding the whole spool thing. Whats the traction/surface like? Are you getting that advice from EB410 drivers? Upgrading bearings can help.

What I meant by that is I was not interested in using composite gears in the diffs just because I don't really want to be sacrificing any durability there. And something like an Avid bearing which would offer less resistance but also need replacing more frequently than the stock. My track is low/med grip clay/dirt and I am running a 13.5 motor. So I wanted to experiment with the center spool, which takes away some of the rotating mass off of the driveline. I understand that it may change how the car reacts, so if it doesn't drive well then I'll take it out. A few of the eb410.1 guys also were running the MIP AL driveline, but I don't think it is available to buy any longer. I'm not like a pro driver, so I'll try the spool and if I hate it, I'll put the stock center diff in and just run it that way.

I wouldn't worry about the lightweight drivetrain stuff, one crash and all the advantage is gone. I would upgrade my bearings and make sure everything is as free as possible and only use a little dab of the 1up racing diff gear grease.

I was a bit surprised there are no MIP pucks available anymore. It has really turned me off with MIP. Not the first product they just decided to not support anymore. But to be fair, if my eb410.2 was any faster, they may take me outback and beat me. Might have to take the RotorRon sticker off my motor. I am running speedsecret bearings and composite gears in the 3 diffs.

Did you use the HRC spindle carriers also? Can you confirm that the part # is TKR6552?

Finally got a good night in w/ my buggy. It's honestly so good. I barely messed w/ set-up. Box stock w/ a few tweaks and mods listed above. 100% satisfied w/ my purchase. Great job to all the ppl at Tekno.

Drove the buggy for the first time tonight. I am having trouble with my Icon motor stopping the cooling fan so it is running hot ATM.

Try placing a spacer underneath the fan. Strong stock rotors are known to stop fans if they mount close enough.

Anyone race on carpets? How does it handle on that surface?

This was my first race with the buggy and my second night driving it. I took second against really fast competition but this buggy seems like it handles so we'll it could make anyone a hero. Mostly box stock but I added more arm sweep and kickup to the front.

It seems if MIP does not have a good take rate right away they stop making a kit.

So just an update here. I've had the EB410.2. Out to the track three times now with no issues. No spur gear stripping or anything. I have trashed a rear wing but the wings that came with the Jconcepts body are way flimsy compared to the Tekno wing. Thankfully it came with 2. I just installed the second one. So far I am enjoying it more and more as I learn how it behaves in different situations on the track. I'm hoping to get to the track before the end of the weekend again to drive it some more but my local track has just undergone a change in ownership and has been closing on days it is normally open for the purpose of doing some remodeling so we'll see if their schedule and mine align at all. This really messed with my RC vacation plans this week, but you can't win them all I guess.

Here is a copy of the setup that I am currently using. Buggy is very easy to drive on turf and neutral in the corners. I did try 60K fluid in the center diff but I felt like it reduced my overall available steering and I was a little slower around the track with the change. I think that 35K or 40K might be the absolute max I would be willing to run but more experimentation is needed.
