Is anyone not using the body posts and just using Velcro to hold the body on? If so, any issues or is the body staying in place?

I use the posts and velcro but no clips. I feel like if anything the body posts would help reliability in the event of a crash?

I run velcro only and do not have an issue keeping the body on.

Cool. That’s what I was planning on doing, but wasn’t sure how well it would hold due to the lack of side guard area to attach the Velcro to. Thanks.

One thing to keep in mind about velcro vs clips is the chassis flex. Velcro will affect the chassis flex (typically will stiffen the chassis a touch), this could be good, bad or indifferent depending on your driving style, setup and track conditions.

I run velcro only on the sides. I cut the nubs for the clips off and put the fuzzy velcro there just to keep the body from getting too scratched up on the inside.

Chassis flex is the reason why I didn’t want to use the posts. I didn’t want the posts to tear the body.

If you were to use the body clips, you are suppose to cut the back hole more like a rounded slot rather than a circle shaped hole. The elongated hole allows the chassis to flex and the body clip to move without destroying the body.

Yes. I also did this.

I didn’t want to use the posts at all. I’m cutting them off. You know. For the clean look

On your settings for bumpsteer and ackerman. Are those settings based on the number of steel kit washers or a mm measurement?

It is the number of washers installed. The only measure that is mm length is the steering links for toe on the front end.

Ok. I’m used to seeing setup sheets for other manufacturers in mm and even a previous sheet in this thread in mm. If the previous sheet in this thread is in fact in mm (as listed on the sheet), it’s quite a ways off from the factory setting.

You need to look at the notes of the set up sheets. I have seen some setups use mm for the washer height.

I think each washer is .5mm which would make the overall setting 2mm then. I'll go back and re-read the setup sheet and adjust it if it was meant to be in mm
