Probably not allow any changes!! All motor that you bring to the Nats will go through a complete tech of each motor for the way they come from Motiv and then certified! If they start letting things go or change, then you have completely killed the reason for spec motors.

Yes it does. But of the motors I've seen, not one of them has the same timing. If Paul sat there and made sure every motor was exactly the same, they would cost $150. Manufacturers have tolerances and the rule set states those tolerances. They all fall in between 30-33 degrees. And again, nothing I was doing is illegal. I spoke with him directly before buying them to make sure I was within the rules. And as far as charging $90 goes, if you buy one from Motiv, they're 80 so, I was only charging 10 for my time...which is a bargain compared to what I usually charge to do a motor.

Aside from a ''outlaw'' sensor board, I don't see any real easy way to increase timing without obviously hacking up things.
A few degrees maybe, but nothing that one less or one more tooth on the pinion can't account for. Moving the screws around to get the timing more even on a tester, is something anyone can do for free. Regular maintenance and diligent attention to detail isn't something that should be ''banned''. Hardly a significant advantage.
Big nothing burger.

mall the motors are within 5% tolerance from best to worst from Paul’s hands .... I trust him 100% to insure they are all within that range ... if someone is realigning sensors or possibly advancing timing while they are at it it defeats the purpose of the motor to begin with ... as some have said 30-33* deg can be adjusted in gearing out if someone gets greedy and pushes the timing in there “tuned “ motor to say 35-40* it will definitely be faster which is exactly what the class don’t need . The speeds and drive with these motors are amazing . There is no reason to ever have this motor apart wish Paul would have just used security screws and been done with it

its a can of worms that don’t need to be opened ....

Thanks, its for a friend. Unfortunately we will most likely not be entering any events. We will, however, make a showing at a nearby track where I'm told USGT is run as a class. None of us are good enough to actually compete. If I ever manage to get video, you best believe I'll be posting them on YT.
This is how I think a USGT event should look. No offense to the guys who like running those Hypers, J-Zeros, and all those other look alike bodies, but they look terrible. I'm just not a fan.. The single best look alike body in my opinion is the Agata from BittyDesign.

These are the bodies I cannot for the life of me figure out why they aren't popular for this class.
Some more USGT goodness...
I'm not a Porschephile, but this thing just looks the business. Many apologies for the body posts. Chassis isn't finished yet.

The reason people don't run the beautiful bodies is they want to win. I really don't get why we don't just run a 21.5 TC class. At my track the A main could pretty much be a FordGT class. lol
