I tried asking this last week. One response was the R1. The rest of responses were (paraphrasing here) that I was idiot for wanting to buy a good motor for this season and I should just buy the Spec motor now.

The only reason why I ask is racers still comparing a spec motor to an all out tuned motor and if they claim something is at the top Id like to know where the bar is bearing set👍🏾

Had the chance to run USGT class at the Protoform Cup and there were a couple of extremely fast Xray FF's running with us. With the large flowing layout the FF's were able to use a top speed advantage thanks to their lighter weight and being able to gear way up without overheating the handout motors but in the few tight sections of the track that is where the 4wd's eventually made their passes. Quite fun running with the FF's in the Amain but in the end the 4wd's ended up on podium.

Yes, he uses a monster max tuned by alpha pace which has been building some really nice motors. I think he pairs it with a PCR pack also

As far as "best motors" R1, Trinity, TSR and motive has been really good around there. Personally love the R1 motors, just wish the sensor board issues could be fully fixed.

Hey guys sorry for the dumb question I've been running wgtr lately with good success. I am planning on getting a car to run USGT even though we dont have a class here. Probably going to run Cleveland. Any recommendations on the fast body of the week or month??
Thanks for any input!

You see a lot of Exotek J-zeros or Bittydesign Venom bodies. There as still a lot of Exotek P-zeros as well, but they are discontinued and hard to find. I run the Venom and the J. The J seems more neutral and the Venom has a bit more steering for me, so I change out depending on my car’s behavior.

For example, if someone wants to use a used XRAY T4, that would be ok...as long as they're running an RTR powertrain, such as a Traxxas VXL motor/ESC. This way, people would have the choice of buying a new RTR or BNR...or they could buy a used rolling chassis (as most people selling used cars typically remove the motor & ESC), install any RTR powertrain, and they're ready to go...cheaply. What better way for someone new to RC to get involved in "high-performance" racing, with as little cash output as possible.

There's a rtr plastic tub chassis class. It's a few dirt cheap plastic touring cars, but you have to swap in a spec Tamiya brushed motor. And the box stock semi truck classes. Both are perfect for newbs. Both are rarely run anywhere because you only run the class a few times and then move on to USGT or WGTR.

Took the FWD and TC out for shake down on the asphalt track., and to scrub in some tires. Really like the USGT spec motor, decent power, no heat issues, compared to my old Orca 21.5 RX3 (which now resides in the sons FWD) i do not feel like i was missing out on much. The Exosix is still holding up great, found some BMW HPI lights for the Exotek body.

The "Impreza FWD" is being run as the Accord and Volvo Wagons are on backorder still in Japan. But the FF04 has been doing well, it too is pretty solid sofar.

The USGT motor at Speedworld turned some heads. The motor runs very cool and the bottom and midrange power is unbelievable. I gave up a little of the huge straight but was right back on guys bumpers after the sweeper. Definitely not what anyone was expecting. The numbers on the analyzer had me worried but it will be the same for everyone and I just went out and ran against some fast non spec motors and impressed a few. This class takes off its all about driving and setup.

Yes, its very tractable, I feel like its very well balanced, even if you give up on some top end.
