Set it up and did a few laps. Good flow and fun!

Agreed! Just set mine up, ran a few practice laps with Box Stock car and then got first 75 laps in for a baseline. Lots of steering, not much throttle. A serious wrist workout! LOL!

Gotta say, after running my track 3 wide for months and now doing these hfay’s i teally hate the 2 wide configuration anywhich way. Gonna run some more laps to see if incan get any flow, but looks like i’ m leaning toward bowing out. Id rather run wideninside corner with more flow.

Please do not take this the wrong way.

I am thinking you just need more practice, I know you mentioned that you could not break a 5s lap with your Stock Class car on last months circuit so no, at that point you did not really have any flow on course yet. I find that once I start getting up to speed on a particular circuit you start linking the apex of two corners together and many of the turns start to flow together. On last months circuit I found that the first three left hand turns coming off the main straight were really one big corner and when you nailed it it was really satisfying and fast.

With that said can it be frustrating? For sure, I had a lot of issues with last month's course and for awhile there I was wondering if I had lost my touch and could no longer drive these little cars. It turns out I did not really lose my touch but I just needed more practice and by the end of the month I was turning some competitive laps and I personally found that pretty satisfying.

Cheers,
Jim

I'm lucky that I'm living in a 2 bedroom apartment in Tokyo, clearing out the second bedroom (used to be my workshop and virtual garage) for 4m/3m space for the track. Seem like space is not the problem, but I'm sure my neighbor wouldn't appreciate the sound when I'm doing Time Attacking lol. Anyway, I'm still waiting for 2 30 Kyosho track to ship my way, ETA unknown is pretty worrisome. I'll let you guys know when mine arrived, hopefully my apartment manager won't kick me out of the building lol.

Look forward to having you join us. Noise level is pretty low with Mini-Zs. The loudest thing is the lap counting software audio!

p.s. being in Tokyo should mean readily available parts and first dibs on newly released products. Lucky!

Thank you! I’ll be running a MA030 Evo, it is a pretty loud car compare to the MR03 Evo. That’s got me worry.

yes, pretty much easy to find Kyosho parts. But sadly for PN, GL, X-Power, MPower, or anything else out side of Japan is insanely hard to get or at 40% mark up

Welcome, good to have you on board.

Have to figure out what class you will run in, maybe Open AWD? What motor are you running?

Traveler, do you have any experience on classification of MA030's from the racing you have done? I am not familiar with the performance potential of the Kyosho AWD offerings.

Cheers,
Jim

The AWDs usually have their own class, and as you mentioned he can run it in the Open AWD Mini-96 class. Maybe Titanmaru can get an MR-03 too?

Thank guys! I could race is OpenAWD no problem. But I guess I’ll be at the bottom which I don’t mind anyway lol. Modded MA-Evo doesn’t stand a chance with the BZ3 or GLA anyway (unless more mod items get released).

Regarding MR03, I also have a MR03 Evo SP blue coming my way. So I guess I can run pro stock as well.

Anyway, I’m expecting my MR03 to arrive before my track (the guys who I ordered with have no clue on when the track will arrive). For now I’ll have to go to my local shop to practice and have fun.

Posted some early Box Stock and Stock results. Need to get some laps in with my Pro Stock and Open 2wd cars, because I’ll be gone on business for 2 weeks in November.

I'm waiting for my Mini 96 to arrive and have cleaned out a portion of the basement to run in. Is it advisable to run plastic sheeting under the track or simply set down onto the bare floor?

Mine is currently on floor. Originally I had it on a plywood base, I get water seeping after heavy rain.
