You do realize theirs a spec (controlled) motor being mandatory starting spring? I would just pick one of those up for $80 and race

I don’t know if any one has used it yet. Was just announced few weeks back. Just a guess but probably not. But if everyone is running the same motor,

It’s been a year since my last race. I switched the the R1 motor(Rotor Ron). Made I big jump for me. I was still off pace. But wasn’t from motor.

But if you want to spend 120-200 on a 21.5 with all the bells and whistles now and continue to buy the fastest motor of the month till this $80 motor is the rule go for it

depending on how many guys are running at your track and how fast they really are compared to the usgt pros you might be as fast or faster , or not .

Thank you very much. That is what I was looking for. Last season I started on a slow motor in VTA and getting a Rotor Ron motor go me brought me a lot closer to pace.
I never said I was going to get a new motor every week. I just don't want to buy something that is slow only to turn around and replace it with something faster. Been there done that. That way I can blame myself and not the car being too slow. I have no problems buying a motor for this season and a different one for next season. As for how good everyone else is... Well an 2004 IFMAR world champion is in our club and we are hosting the Roar Fuel On-Road Nationals at our track. So they may no be pro USGT drivers but to someone with about a seasons worth of experience they might as well be.

I’ve read the “motor of the month” thing for couple years. Fortunately, I’ve yet to encounter someone who took things that seriously.
