I did have the issue of the tire being unglued last time I was at Cal, but they have been always glued/checked since then. I usually would get snap oversteer going into a sweeper at the end of the straight if I didn't glue them up.
At the last Turkey Race in Santee (generously sprayed), I started the day practicing on balloons but ended up on new tires for the rest of the day. My new USGT tires were about the same as 36 GQ slicks.
Its hard to explain but the old set feels numb and not as responsive. I did, however, see that sweepers or constant load corners were good, but 180 turns and direction changes were not.
For sauce, I use SXT max 3.0 and tire warmers around 60 deg C.
That's why I highlighted 'carpet sauces'- SXT 3.0 is an awesome carpet sauce but is like wax for asphalt Get you some FXII and it should be a lot better. Try and clean off the old SXT before you race again also but hopefully the SXT isn't forever absorbed into your older tires...

Something else to look at is make sure your ballooned tires are not rubbing your wheel wells.

Thank you, I'll try FXII. I had no idea SXT is a carpet sauce. Wheel wells do not have any rubs yet.

I'm doing a new program for asphalt racers. Give me your new sets so I can run them on carpet. Once they start ballooning, I will ship it to you, ready to use on asphalt.

I think it’s time we all switch to the belted version they made for the FF cars.

Where do you get these belted tires? I looked at Gravity and didn't see them.

I have seen them at Monaco RC. They are the spec tire for FWD in the ETS races, I believe.

These?
https://www.monacorc.com/us_en/hudy-...right-left-2-2

EDIT: I found the ETS rules, the allowed tire for FWD is Ride Belted RI-26073.

OK, my car was perfect a few weeks ago, but last week it started getting loose and today it was worse. I keep track of my tire usage and I'm pretty sure these tires had over 30 five minute runs on them. What kind of tire life has other people gotten on very smooth asphalt? Thanks, Glenn

Try it like it is and with new ones on the back only. You'll get your answer
