Winter development continues...

Early version without much reinforcing and inaccuracies in distances.

Another version with FGX like nose cone and wing attachment.

Nose is snug even without the single screw. It is pretty sturdy when screwed on .

Newest version all holes fixed and suspension mounts lowered 5mm to allow for 25mm standoffs imstead of 22mm

I added a screw hole for the steering column to be mounted from the top. This allows for easier disassembly and better clearance for the steering arms. No more need for bent arms.

New nose concept.

This is still a work in progress and I am thinking of making each side an individual piece so that I can pivot them at the connecting points allowing for narrower tapered in noses.

All my parts are STL or OBJ models. They're also based on 3racing parts so I'm not sure if you can legally recreate their kit without distinct differences. I'm getting ready to finalize many parts and have some already in a private shapeways store. I'm looking for a company that can manufacture my parts in aluminum and was looking at some companies in Taiwan and California. I even visited an Urban workshop to look into cnc and laser cutting classes.

well okay... i was just doing it more for fun and trying to bring back a car i have always liked as a kid but could never afford, so now i bought a couple rollers and a new in box f2001...and have since started designing parts as i already do that as a job. i work in a 3d-print / cnc and machining / proto-type lab...im not trying to mass produce just take what you already have done and make it better or to work with my designs...

ive contacted 3racing they dont seem to respond about there designs...they are no longer producing the carbon chassis for the f2001... so im going to keep bothering them... and hopefully get an answer.. i would take the time to re-create that and sell it....im trying to find a complete 3 racing chassis(hopefully nib) so i can recreate it and produce a couple for intersted people like you..but not for like comercial gain or business more to help fuel more designs and find out if anyone out there is down to do kinda the same thing..more of trading..... i wont be licensing my ideas theres just not enough reason too in my opinion.. not many people still have this car... let alone give a shiteza

Got myself 2 new Tamiya 51602 bodies for the F201. It fits perfectly. It's much larger than Protoform or BittyDesign bodies. It's about as long as an FGX body and as wide as the original F201 bodies. The first body I'm going to keep intact and not add the more detailed side pods.

The paint I used in order of usage from left to right.

Body trimmed and cut for the suspension arms to snap through the body

New Diffuser and Gearbox to recess the rear wing closer to the tire.
