Just picked up a 2015 car with upgraded 2016 side pods.

Any thing else worth upgrading? I'm very much a newb to F1 cars.

I dont have an XRay X1 but I read the thread, seems there is minimal changes you need to be competitive. Come on over to Richardson and hit the Banana one weekend a lot of XRays there

Ok, I come up to banana whenever I get a chance. I've talked to a few guys up there about F1. It looked like so much fun I had to buy one.

It is slightly faster, but I converted mines. You honestly only need the narrower chassis with new sidelink connectors and its basically the 18 car

hmmm, not sure if it's worth ponying up this year then. My 17 works good. I like how they redid the pod.

I'll wait for next year.

Thanks

I got the 18 aluminum chassis in and its not very flat at all. Do you guys just build it and let it rip or work on getting it flat first?

Default Spur gears

Just finished my 2018 x1 build. Tried it out at the track and spur is a little chewed up. I know how to set the mesh properly. Just wondering if anyone knows what causes it? and if there's another brand of spur that will work? since nobody here in the US has xray spurs in stock.

Head on crashes will move the motor forward, increasing the mesh gap. When bashing do check the mesh after every run. For touring cars, I like to unfasten, and retighten the motor screws every time I swap out for another lipo.

got the alum flex chassis coming, can't wait to drive it. My car drives good with the carbon chassis as it is.
