Default Steering Curve VS Dual Rates

Hello everyone. I just got the MTS and am in the process of setting it up on one of my cars. For those that have one, are ya’ll using the steering curve to tame the steering or dual rates? Thanks in advance for any and all input.

Just got the radio. The radio itself seems fine, but the receiver connection slots are too tight. I googled around a bit and some had found it tight, but mine physically simply will not fit, not even the receiver power switch connector that comes with the radio itself. Looking at the receiver from above, there's clearly not enough space next to the "S" pin.

Given how expensive these receivers are, you'd think they could at least get the darn connector slots right? Now it seems I'll have to carve extra space for the connector. I imagine that won't do any favors for warranty eligibility...

Although one thing about the radio itself, I was hoping for a bit more trigger travel overall, for more granular braking. I can of course still get more brake travel than with the MX-V due to the adjustment, and setting CURVE will help with that further, but even so. Funny that some of the older/cheaper radios I have/had had exactly that long trigger travel, especially for braking.

The receiver slots were meant more for the leads that have tapered edges which some electronics have nowadays. Just notch the servo and ESC lead a little and they'll fit in the sanwa receiver. Don't chip away at the receiver itself

I finally managed to edge in the connectors on the other channels, but there was no choice but to take a sliver off the side of CH1 to make that fit. Even so, all the channels are still a pain in the arse. During race days I usually have two cars between which I switch the transponder since I only have one, and that's gonna be even more of a pain in the arse with this kind of receiver. Maybe I need to use a small dedicated battery for the transponder. Got plenty of those coin-sized ones, would just need to sort actually connecting the transponder to one with some wiring.

And I only just realized that moving the trigger moved the entire trigger without affecting the throttle/brake ratio, silly me misunderstood that one. Oh well. I just measured, and the brake trigger movement distance is 5mm in the MX-V and 8mm in the MT-S so there's indeed improvement nonetheless, but still a far cry from some of the other radios that seem to have equal movement to both directions from neutral. But, hopefully it's enough combined with the curve adjustment.

Just be careful with newer electronics if you put some in the future, the tapered edge varies so that edge you cut off could lead to a loose connection with a different servo/ESC. I know my transponder is actually the easiest of them to plug in because of the lead it uses. And my ESC lead is also similar. My servo lead is the only one I needed to trim myself.

I don't think loose is going to be a problem. More like I'm worried about breaking either the cable or the receiver every time I'm trying to disconnect a cable from it. And with how little room for the connector casing the receiver leaves, I'm also worried that the pins get bent a bit every time I plug a connector. Oh, and while the small size and no antenna cord is nice, the fact the receiver isn't "flat" and so the upright part gets in the way of plugging things in doesn't help all this. Overall a VERY frustrating receiver - and I'm supposed to buy a second one? Uuuggghhh

Looking for someone to confirm how many receivers come with this radio? I have seen reviews which show two and I have seen a few people writing reviews for the product which indict they came with 2ea but I can't find it confirmed anywhere and looking through the English manual it only shows 1ea.

Lol it's a love hate relationship to have the wireless receivers I'll give ya that. I've had to work around them more than I've been able to just throw them in and have it work. I've had to shim my receiver box so it'll close, trim receiver plugs to fit and sweat over the car as I keep trying the newly trimmed receiver plug lol. I've never seen this on their wired receivers oddly enough. So if you're buying more maybe go back to the wire and save some hassle. It's also cheaper so not a bad tradeoff. I personally find the wireless receiver to be worth the effort, however much it may be haha

Most commonly it's only one. Some places can sell it with two, but in those cases the product name/description will say as much.

Yeah, I was considering a RX-471W for a waterproof one. Although the only waterproof ESCs I have are for my 1/16 Traxxas. But I suppose it'd be nice to be able to drive it in winter with my better controller rather than the RTR - can't fit my MX-V's receivers nor the RX-482 in the receiver box. Although I actually should weather seal the servo too (it's an aftermarket one).

Oh and speaking of size, some of the 482's small footprint advantage is negated by the fact that since I move it between cars, it uses velcro to stay on. Which kinda requires a bigger surface area to be secure than the 482 has. Even for the bigger RX-37Es of the MX-V I made the velcro area bigger via a lexan "platform" on which I mounted the receiver, they stay put quite well that way. The 482 as is, not so much!

I found the transponder the hardest connector to get on and remove actually. To remove it I need to use pliers. Although the USB adapter for driving in VRC is also nutty to get on, I even trimmed the connectors quite a bit and still have major trouble connecting! On the RX-37E those work just fine too. Clearly sometimes expensive is not better in every regard...
