There were a lot of P Zero bodies at the US Indoor Champs. I think the popularity is due to the safe feeling. It has downforce in the rear but plenty of steering. There were a lot of Corvettes as well, and the Corvette is supposed to be good in high bite as it is a little less twitchy...but I have not tried it yet. None the less, the McAllister MX Stang (Mustang) was on the winner, PF Corvette on second, and I believe a P Zero 3rd.

....Just confirming that there are many bodies that are capable in USGT. Run what you like.

Just picked up an MX Stang as I set to convert my 17.5 car over to USGT. Found this cool little article and video from the Road America facebook page today, thought you guys might be interested. I had never known of this Mustang GTP car, it looks pretty cool, and kinda like the MX Stang

Ok... local track is doing a “USGT” tamiya body spec class... outdoor blacktop.

Which tamiya on the approved body list handles the best?

I was looking at the Raybrig NSX - Concept-GT ITEM# 51563

Any other options?

Autoech gtr LW is very long so does not rotate very well. Looks nice but is not very fast.

IMO, this is the body that looks most like the MX-Stang

I mean, it is modeled after a modern Mustang, but I thought the vintage GTP car had very similar proportions with the longer hood and very low front end, boxy rear. Matches the profile more so than the modern car, though no doubt it's modeled after the modern.

I ran the tamiya Ferrari 458 last Sunday and it handled very well.

I think just about all the tamiya usgt bodies handle the same. Just grab the one that looks good to you and run it. That's what the class is about.

See ya at the track!

Why I run the Caddy, I like the looks and am not the best driver anyway.
