Just bought a TT02R and I'm wanting to run it in USVTA. It seems that the must have is the Yeah Racing adjustable motor mount. With my other car, I've been running a final drive ratio between 3.75 and 4.00. Any other parts that are must haves?

The YR motor mount makes life very easy and it is cheap so I would go for that if you need to work on FDR's.

Cheers,
Jim

If you've got a 418... why would you be messing with a tt02?

Anyone know what exact motor model comes with the 58571 TT-02 Porsche 1973 RSR? All I seem to find from specs is that it is a "power 540 brushed motor" which doesn't help much. Is it the RS-540 Sports Tuned or just the regular 540-J?

Odd that according to some sources the 58571 does have an ESC, according to others it doesn't. Why would it be sold with the same product number in two different configurations?

I own a 419x and TT02S. I wanted to see how much performance I could squeeze out of the TT02S. In the end, it was darn impressive.

The only reason I stopped running it is because of chassis failure. The type S suspension shafts put a lot of pressure on the chassis.. since it is literally held by 2 screws..

According to Tower Hobbies it's a Torque Tuned motor.

Hmm. That's a problem I ran into on the TT02b. I had a wreck where the rear suspension arm ripped out of the chassis, causing a tear in the hardened chasssis.

That said, the TT02s is a lot better than I was expecting. The long arms, the nylon or better arms. Neat!

.. now I need to look at the TT02r. Hah.

Nortran11

Have a look at Shadow Racing - RC on facebook for some 3d printing. I have done some things for Stephen Shih and Team C. I have tinkered with the Tamiya TA07 and am interested in doing some things for the TT02 in the future. :-)

For those running TT02 cars with the universal shaft assembly....Tamiya provides a 39mm swing shaft with that set. This shaft is actually too short, it causes the cup joints to chatter as the shaft just barely sits in the cup making for a LOT of play. To remedy this, order part 54078. This is the 44mm swing shaft from a TRF418, it sits perfectly in the joint cup and allows the car to run smooth and quiet(er)

As the temperatures get colder I have been finding the, already slippery, USGT tires to be like running on ice. I decided to actually use the original Fuch's that came with the RSR body and got some of the Tamiya Super Soft Radials. Holy cow are they soft....but with that said after two packs through them there has not been any notable wear so far. They do stick well and the car looks much more scale with the higher profile tires and scale wheels.

Cheers,
Jim

Those USGT tyres are not that slippery..

Jim, what do you clean your tyres with?

Pick up some SXT traction compound. I use it to clean the tyre after a race and then use it to pre the tyre before the race. I think you will find it helpful in putting the power down.
