Any tips on avoiding getting the ring on the inner shoulder of the tire? I tried running less camber but it didn't seem to matter.

You could try a cuticle knife. One with the V blade.

Found a good way through a friend that's not even in the RC world. Spin the tire on the drill using the adaptor, then use a Drexel spinning opposite direction with a sanding drum at a 45 dregree angle. Worked like a charm

And the Mcalister MX Stang looks great.

Not sure how new the body is but will Ferrari F12 part number 51592 from Tamiya be added to approved list?

Someone - I don't remember who - sells a little v-groove blade designed to slice the seam off. It looks like a stick with a teardrop cutout in the end of it, I have tried to find it again without success but it exists!

But I race on carpet and the seam takes care of itself after several runs, so I never bothered.

The problem is not camber. It is the construction of the tire. First it is beltless and second it has a very inexpensive foam insert. Using traction compound softens the tire and penetrates through to the insert. Once the tire and insert get soft the lateral pressure from hard cornering pushes the tire inward and creates the "death groove". The foam starts to expand as the tire softens and because it's beltless and there is nothing to help keep the tire's original shape the tire's OD starts to balloon. Now you know why they are so inexpensive

Glad this is simplified and tires/bodies opened up. We have been running GT10 at CAL...this makes for an easier transition if anyone wanted to venture to USGT.

Perhaps if we make a new rule Where we Mandate all tracks have 2 sweepers one Left and one Right we can Even out our tire wear . We will have to make more rules for Front to Back wear

Ironically- the first signs of the groove of death also means the tires are now at peak performance for traction

I get 2-3 racedays out of the tires. The 3rd raceday they are unpredictable because that ring is prominent

That or you could always flip flop tires left to right, right to left to even out tire wear which is what I do,
