Tire difference could be the other thing causing handling variation, especially on a loose surface.

hope it's okay if i could ask for further details on the P-Zero specifically on handling characteristics. And if possible, compare the handling characteristics of it to the NSX 2007 of Tamiya?
Not running USGT but some races in Asia for 17.5T blinky have certain body rules (race bodies such as PF, bittydesign, montech aren't allowed) that should be in 1:10 scale and I'm looking for an equal or better alternative to the NSX.
thanks in advance.

Last night I did a little experiment. for the first pack I ran the Porsche body. It is very tail happy on high speed "trail braking", very typical of a full scale rear engine Porsche.
Still with the Porsche body I installed the wheel/tire combo from the SX4 body. Not quite as sensitive to but still exhibited a lot of over steer off throttle.
I then put the SX4 body on it and the car is substantially better, turn in may not be quite as good but it is a major improvement in high speed stability.
Lastly I ran the car with no body and it is an understeering pig, I mean even doing a Swedish flick I could barely get the rear end to break free.
That was a pretty neet experiment. I think I now have to try a more race inspired body to see what she will do.
Cheers,
Jim

just keep in mind that the body is a fine tune option for setup. With a good suspension setup, any body can be made to work. So only change bodies once your sure the car is setup well, then fine tune with bodies to get that last little bit.

Guys I've been running with CTS in the USGT division and I run a Protoform Caddy. It's good and neutral balance. Have any of you been working with the new Exotek body offered for USGT. What are your thoughts?

I picked one up but have yet to paint it. I know a few others a HT Fresno bought them too. It'll be interesting to see how they handle on our track this weekend. Lee ran one a couple weeks ago at the CTS race at Ripon. He said he really liked it, his "new go to body" as he put it.

Keep in mind this is a lowly TT02 which does not incorporate droop screws.
Thanks.

Copy that. With that said I tried chasing down the high speed off throttle oversteer stability issue. Knowing what I know from full scale I first went softer in the rear and that helped until I took spacers out off the springs (no/very little spring pre-load). That made it worse, I am thinking there is to much droop in the rear? I may take the rear shock apart and put some spacers on the shock shafts to reduce the droop and see if that helps at all.
Keep in mind this is a lowly TT02 which does not incorporate droop screws.
Thanks.

I have tried all NSX body's. I like them all. I am skeptical about any body till I try it. The P-Zero reminded me of the NSX out on my first lap. Easy to drive and held to the track well. But i kept getting faster with it. I was ahead of second place by 6 seconds. Plenty of steering. If you use the supplied wing I would suggest cutting it on lower line. I used the HPI plastic split wing on mine.

6 seconds is 6 seconds no matter how you look at it. If you were fast enough you could of kept up. Lol

Trying out my new Flickr photo account to see if pics will post. Here's my new Protoform C7-R:

Glenn, all I did was open an account on Flickr and downloaded some pics, put them in an album and tinkered around until I found the links to post pics online, it took this old man longer than usual to find everything but it is now my go-to site for hosting and sharing.
I'll try to explain it better at the track later tonight.

Figured it out, use the "BBcode" on Flickr and just copy it at the end of the message, do not use the video insert tool on this site.
