Yes there may be a wait, but they are avaialble.
I don't think there's an issue with getting it "dialed in"
Motors are set to the appropriate timing and gearing from 3.8 to 3.9 FDR depending on track size.
I'm pretty sure the "bottom 5%" is a pretty good motor considering the variation of resistance, rotor asymmetry, and sensor deviation is pretty close...

Ah but the Mazda 6 was NOT a GT car. Not going to matter because I have an Aston Martin, the mostest awesomest GT car ever raced body. No one will be able to keep up!

Now, if you don't mind, I'll go back to my Porsche 962...

I'm loving my new Colt 911 GT1. It's gorgeous, high in quality, and quite light, too: 104.4g, which is excellent for a 200mm body. Oh, and it's pink, the same pastel shade as the old Pink Pig Porsche (thanks, Scott!).

That said, there's "GT" in "GTP" too...

Funny that you should mention that, because we had a bunch of guys show up last Sunday to run their TC cars, complete with Mazda6 bodies, with 21.5 motors. I suggested that they run with the USGT guys, since the rules are otherwise similar (especially since the track doesn't mandate the Ride spec tires). Instead the race director put them in with the 17.5 TC cars. In either case, if the goal was to have their own class, it didn't work out.

21.5 on touring car tires is 21.5 touring car with a GT body.
Tires are what causes the cars to handle better, not bodies at these slower speeds. (I'd say it's at most 80/20, if not 90/10 tire/body)
USGT has been going up and down at my track, and they tried to start 21.5 TC as they wanted more traction, but not 17.5 power. I suggested a kind of TCGT class. 21.5 motor, USGT bodies, spoke rims, open tire. But alas, this didn't come to be. I thought it would be a great compromise. You get the handling of a touring car with the speed and look of USGT
