i've seen some youtube vids, and those guys used the mx5 shell

Heres the first attempt at my wiring.
It didn't go so bad and there is a convenient hole to locate the fan if required.

Latest StockSpec fits fine even with a bit of space between the fan and ESC. I'm assuming the recent posts are about an ESC that's bigger? Not the StockSpec? (I'm not familiar with all the HobbyWing variants)

The stock spec has a very slightly smaller footprint than the ezrun or Justock - about 5mm. Not too much difference, but a nice bonus. My main problem is the upper reinforcing thing interferes with the wiring as I've got it running side to side. I'll just turn mine the way you've got yours.

The brushed Tekin ESC I mentioned has a footprint of 20x25mm, btw. The HW Stock Spec is about 30x25mm and the old Justock is about 30x30mm.

This morning at Tamiya, with the new M07, my second lap EVER, was a 16.7. Conditions were ideal for minis, and I was using Pit tires, but this is with a 74 year-old duffer at the helm! Unfortunately, every change I made thru the day from the book settings made things worse, and the temperature was going up quickly, which always raises lap times into the 17's. Except for clipping a mm off each steering cup which allowed some toe-out to keep it going straight down the straightaway, nothing else helped. So, just build it stock, and now everyone is going to have a competitive mini to race...

I know with the m07 out now m05 is so obsolete but has anyone got it to work on black CRC carpet.i run at 360 but we don't run them cause we can't get them to stop flipping no matter the corner and there is some fast guys running them and can't get it to stay rubber down. I tried kit tires but no luck so I'm guessing s type comound would be worse

Glue the sidewall and the first little bit of tread on the front tires. Run the car low back and front. Try yellow springs all around. Should help a bunch.

I just got my M-07 in, when I was reading the manual on the option shocks I got a little confused.
There are 5 part numbers listed for shocks, 42102, 42287 as kit regular size damper and 5400, 4291, 42273 as short type damper.
In the notes it states long rod should be used with short shocks.

If someone could take a few minuets and break down the differences between the 2 sets of part numbers and which shocks I should order.
If my M-chassis big bore shocks will not works, what is the recommended shock.

Your M-chassis Big Bore shocks will work fine if you replace the stock shafts (26mm or 28mm depending) with 30mm shafts.

I think you can also choose to use the longer lower shock-ends (BallCup) option instead of the longer shaft. (this is what I'm going to try first, as this is what I used on my M05)

unfortunately I don't have partnumbers handy, just familiar with the parts I've used. all the shock parts-trees come with both the short and long lower shock-ends so you may have those laying around and/or in your current kit...

With the long shafts, use the short ball cups. The long shock ends will limit the stroke too much, IMHO.

so, are all the shock bodies the same length, with the shock shafts different lengths between mini and short shocks?

I can not find a detailed description on body and shaft lengths to compare.

If anyone knows where to find that info, or already has it handy that would be nice.

if body lengths are different, I might just order a new set and keep what I have on my M-05v2.

There are 3 lengths of piston rods now? Shoot, I thought they were either 26 or 28. I put some 28mm ones into my big bore dampers. Seems to look okay, arms drop below level when droop screws are backed out, but I haven't even had tires on the thing yet.

28mm shafts in BB's do look about right, but would be fully extended at RH, then the shock piston is at the very bottom of the shock body, not optimum.
I haven't tried the TC shock bodies, which are a few mm longer than the mini bodies, and should work with the 28mm shafts. Please report back if you experiment...
