So I acquired a receiver pack from one of the guys at work who has nitro cars, put 4 brand new AA battery's in it, plugged it into my brand new receiver into the port the esc normally plugs into and same problem with the steering.

Could it really be that my transmitter is bad??? It's a $300 transmitter!!! It worked perfectly fine before swapping over to this car how does a transmitter just go bad like that!?! It has to be right because the speed control was completely eliminated, the receiver is brand new and it did the same thing with 2 different servos that I had laying around ughhhh

Only other thing I could think of is I reset the transmitter because I wanted a fresh start with everything. Could resetting it have somehow messed up all the settings causing it to not work correctly or even at all for the throttle???

just to update everybody and for any other people who may have a similar issue in the future.

The problem was that when I reset the settings on my transmitter, I didn't know that I had to recalibrate the steering and throttle. So I did that with everything connected and then my steering worked!! Still not throttle though...

Then I looked in my users manual for the speed control to look up what the colored lights meant and unnoticed that it had the full brake applied even when giving full throttle. Even though inlrogrammed this speed control multiple times I must have gotten confused with the wording as I missed a crucial star.

Everything is good now

Thanks again everybody

It could be the steering potmeter of the transmitter. If the warranty is already gone you could open the transmitter and spit some brake cleaner into the potmeter. Turn it a few times arround and give it a try.
