Looks like I might try the Leopard 4275 2000kv motor. Any reason why that wouldn't work? It appears to have 6.5mm connectors which would be great since I'm using the MM2 ESC with a BEC.
Sorry about that.
I just checked my book.
The tekno motor mount is m3 holes.
The motor I put in had both holes.
Sorry, I check more before running my fingers.

Ha. No worries! I should check more too, as it does appear that this Arrma motor has M3 holes in addition to M4. Oops. I never noticed that.

But I'm still stuck with the 5.5mm connectors and with my (lack of) soldering ability, it might ne worth it to just get a motor with 6.5mm connectors already attached.

Here are a few pics with the lid on and some Trencher X. Thanks for the help everyone as I learn a new brand and truck.

Default tires, tires, tires

hey Fellas,

Looking for some tire advice or direction.

I have a set of Badlands for light dirt and grass. Tread is kind of tall to be burning up on asphalt.

I have a set of Road Rage for purely asphalt running...work great.

Looking at the Shockwaves. They have decent tread, but the tread is also wide enough to have lesser rolling resistance on asphalt and tall enough to work somewhat well on low yard grass.

What can be recommended for a reasonable all around tire? I know it's a compromise, but some of you guys have run them all...

You may consider SRC Terrain Crusher. They have moderate traction in grass. I haven't run them on pavement, but heard they are ok. http://www.rctech.net/forum/monster-...ks-thread.html

I have those and have found only one use for them. On road. Not much traction anywhere else. I have try them on a clay track and see how they do.

You will need extended hexes. I have set of terrain crushers, the 1/4 offset on the rims isn't quite enough, imo.
I haven't run them yet though, just test fitted.
But they look good.
I do like the shockwaves for blacktop and dirt. Tall grass they spin a lot. But that can be fun to. It's controllable by throttle input. Good luck.

My MT410: ESC Tekin RX8 Gen2, motor T8 Gen2 1350kv, servo Protek 170SBL, TKR5262, TKR5499, TKR5433, TKR6083, TKR6093, EB48.4 shocks, & body Mcallister Tri-County Pearl White Duratrax. I'm not impressed w/Duratrax paint, & will not be using it in the future.

What motor and ESC should I run in this truck?
I'll only be running 4s.
SMC 6700mah 90c
7955tg 6.0V

Considering:

Mamba Monster 2/2200kv Castle
HW Quicrun 150a/2000kv
HW Max 8/2200kv

Open to any and all options but I don't want to drop $300 on a new setup. ~$250ish after any discounts would be ideal.

I've only owned Castle ESCs but recently got a Quicrun 150a BL ESC and the LVC is touchy. I've read a lot about Hobbywing ESC having touchy LVC and then the MAX8 only has 3 settings for LVC(low, medium, high).

I don't want to have issues with LVC, I don't want it hitting LVC early. Never had an issue with my Castle ESCs with the LVC set at 3.5v per cell. With the Hobbywing set to 3.4v per cell it cuts off closer to 3.85v per cell. Castle ESC seems to be affected less by voltage sag.

I've got every other piece to this build I need except a motor and ESC.

Don't even consider the Monster 2 anymore now that they released the Monster X.

That being said, if I had to chose a pure bashing setup, it'd be the Mamba Monster X with their 2200kv motor. All waterproof, and still comes with the possibility of going fully sensored in the future.

Which motor and ESC did you go with from HW?
