Thanks!

Hey all, love all the data in this forum, really great stuff! I live in Nashville and started putting together a TT-02R to try and run USGT at Thunder Racing. I have a TrackStar 21.5 Brushless, Hobbywing stock Spec ESC, and Savox servo. The battery is racer's edge 2S, 5000mAH. I stopped in one weekend and the cars there are super competitive, I think starting with a TT02 may be tough! FDR is 3.7 - 3.8, so I plan to try and run a 72T spur with a 50T pinion. I know I have a lot to learn to get racing, but hope to have some fun as I learn.

With the stock gears in the TT02 you won't be able to run a 72 spur. You may have to figure how to achieve a similar FDR using Tamiya gears. They are a different pitch. When I ran a TT01E we ran 55/25 with the solver can motors.

You can get just about any FDR you desire in the TT-02

Please see below.

Thanks, I am running the R model, which includes the adjustable aluminum mount and the high speed gear set. It includes a standard spur holder, so I can swap over to any standard spur gear with matching pitch pinion, and should not be limited to the Tamiya pitch gears (unless I have misread)

The R comes with an aluminium mount but not an adjustable one. You need one by 3Racing or Yeah racing. They are cheap

Looks great! As you mentioned it will look even better with tidy wires. Just think of the weight you can save

Hey all, just started hopping up my TT-02. I've had it about 6 months now and it's pretty much bone stock. I've just added the aluminum drive shaft and have the aluminum steering bridge and "racing steering" sets on order. I've also updated the shocks to the TRF Black coating dampers.

I am kind of tossing around the idea of updating the uprights to the carbon fiber stays from the TT02S to be able to switch the upper A-arms to camber links. Is this a possibility with a standard TT-02 and is it a worthy upgrade?

No, to go down that route you'll need the TT02 Type S suspension mount kit, a set of TA05-IFS arms and the TT02 Type S damper mounts or alternatively the TT02 Upper Arm Mount bracket. Also the Type S uprights are not carbon reinforced as standard, just regular nylon. The carbon reinforced C-hubs are not a good idea as they're incredibly fragile and tend to crack at the smallest impacts.

Yeah, I see that there is more involved than just adding the Type-S stays. I found a site that has the manual and didn't realize that the bearing carriers and spindles got replaced as well.....that said, are the carbon fiber stays for the the standard TT-02 and R worth an update?
