Thanks for the update Jeff. So should I be changing the Spur gear? It's what I got when I bought this kit used.

for scale spec a 92-96 should be a good sized spur.

3.5 to 3.8 is a good final drive to start at NORA.

Depending on what car you have for Scale Spec.... I recommend an 88T to 96T (64 pitch) Spur gear. We typically time our motors between 50 and 55 degrees. If you have a 25.5 Novak Boss it will be timed near the end of the sticker. Your gearing range on Gear ratio depending on track size will be 3.68 to 3.91. Our track is a fast and flowing track for its size. I hope to get a good picture of our new layout tomorrow night so I can post a picture of it.

Practice Wednesday night 1/17. $5 per person.
Doors Open 5:30pm. Practice will run until 9pm or so.

Racing Saturday 1/21. Gate opens at 9am.
Last call for signups 10:45am. Racing starts at 11am.

Thanks for all the good info.. Looks like I will be changing Spur gears. I will be running an oldie Losi Jrx-s Type R as I got it cheap to start the class. Also Running a 25.5 reedy Sonic motor.

Sadly, that Reedy is not a legal motor. Here's the current approved list:

Honestly, if you can't get an approved motor in time, I don't think any of us will complain. Just show up and drive my friend. I'll give you one to run if it comes down to being a problem.

As for f1 gearing at the Nora track, with a 90 tooth spur you will probably want a pinion between 26-29

Last time out I ran a 2.8 fdr with a short stack 21.5 ready in my f1. Depending on your motor I would say some where between 2.6 and 3.0 would be about right.

Thanks for all your help so far guys. Looks like I will miss this one due to crushing a bearing in my diff on my F1 and in my Spec the pinion is not able to reach the spur gear.

You need the tamiya thrust bearing

Stick with the regular build for your crc diff, the tamiya bearings wont fit.

Built as crc suggests the diff will work well with reasonable durability. The flanged axle and diff bearings will be the common failure point like any other pan car.

Just want to clarify our event dates so there is no confusion...

F1 day is Sunday February 26th.

6 hour VTA Enduro is on Saturday March 4th.
