I’ve bought a DX5R shortly after they came out. The biggest issue I have and have never solved is the throttle is very very sensitive - I can barely get my finger in the trigger without any of.my cars/trucks running wild. And it’s not at all smooth like my DX3R. I drove my neighbors truck who has a DX5Pro and what a difference (BTW he has the same ESC and receiver as I do in my truck). Is there an update or something I can do to get this radio better other than buying a Pro model?

John,
My guess is you have too narrow of a neutral band set for the throttle via your esc...
or check to re-bind to your esc....
or check that your throttle is not advanced via the radio... i believe mine is set to button A and I know mine gets bumped now and then. You should be able to see if your throttle is advanced on the home screen
My R works fine.... yes wish it had a few of the Pro features... but good for now

Thanks. The neutral band on my Tekin ESC is 10 times what I ran with my DX3R. I did advance the throttle some after binding to keep it from going into brake when I let off the throttle so I could coast through a turn. I found the basic problem is that there is no tension on the throttle trigger so it does not return to the same position when I let go of the throttle; sometime slightly forward sometimes backwards and sometimes a lot in either direction . Tried a few things Horizon suggested but they didn’t help. Going to return for repair when we are allowed to drive again - yea China Virus

sorry guys have not been on here for a while. John if you look at the servo monitor it will show you if the potentiometer is returning to center every time. You can even try to re-calibrate the pot to see it that helps. If the pot will not go back to the same neutral point either its a bad pot, or the spring setting is too soft and it can not return to the neutral point. Of course, as you mentioned, if its really bad, send it in for the service team to look at it. They is still a small staff on hand to make sure things keep moving.

yes. All of the above won’t center and no tension on trigger that’s why I’m sending it back. Any idea who much this will cost? Might be cheaper to buy a used one that works

I have had my dx5r for two years and I just tried to update the firmware to to 1.08 from 1.03 and now when I turn it on the screen says " your system has a hardware fault which prevents safe operation" it gives codes T-code 000014FA, T-code 0000131E I-code 800000002 and I-code 03024000. can anyone tell me what this means? or how to fix it.
Thank you

Got my TX back from repair. They replaced the entire trigger mechanism. Works great now and the throttle centers at zero when at neutral. Rebound and recalibrated all five of my cars/trucks. Now the ESCs start up right away with no delay. Now all I need is for San Antonio to open our race tracks so I can race again or end our stay at home mandate so I can travel to a track that is open.

Has anyone else had issues with the sr2010 receiver. Mine sometimes drops out. Car looses all steering and throttle for a few seconds and then go back to normal. A real race destroyer... Run in with a tekin rsx at 7.4v bec. Tried with 6v, was even worse, tried with another ESC, same thing.

I don't have a SR2010, but I have a few SR2000's that work without issues. I'm using a non-spec Tekin RS Gen2 with the SR2000.
BTW, for what it's worth, the newer receivers are much better. The SR215 isn't that expensive and would be worth trying out.

Sounds like something isn't right with that SR2010, especially if its worse on the 6v setting. Would look to replace it with the newer generation receivers (SR215/315/515 or SR2100).
