Hey, do you have to use the 3mm wide bearing that comes with those, or can you squeeze in a 4mm? If it's the former, I'll have to order some 5x10x3 bearings. My steering knuckles use 10mm.

Have you seen rebuild kits for these? Getting parts will be vital in my decision making.

Hi Jim, I haven't checked if these are the same as my Sakura TC. I will check tonight and let you know.
Other than the length of the CV shaft, these appear to be identical to to my Sakura TC's driveshafts.

Just got home. Without dismantling my current mo5, I'd wager that the bearings are 5x11x3. How did you get 5x10's to work on an m05?

And yes, because they are identical to my Sakura SSK's, the rebuildable parts are available, and it is easy to do.

Using the 54177 uprights. They use 10mm bearings. Just never used 3mm wide bearings before.

I was looking for the "r" version of that kit ...which has some upgraded parts included for a better overall deal.

Part number starts with a 8 so it was a limited kit. Most likely it won't be restocked

Sorry Chuck, just realized I wasn't being very specific. The 54177 uprights, like the alloy rear uprights, use a 5x10x4 bearing. Stock size bearings for the plastic kit parts and the 3Racing/Yeah Racing M05/06 "bent" style uprights are 5x11x4.

yeah, that is what it is sounding like.
well maybe ill just pick up the M05V2 ...will give it 'til after Christmas though/not in a huge hurry.

It was a weird release. They really should have included the aluminium steering parts (and maybe the heat sink bars too). The only way to get matching black aluminium parts was to buy the 84407 set, but then you'd end up with duplicates of half the parts. And if you wanted the black battery mounts, the only way to get that was to get the R spec chassis, so you couldn't just buy a regular M05 and upgrade it separately.

For the money the "R" was the best kit ...I never picked one up as I never thought it would have been a limited edition. Plus I have an M05 (which I've upgraded from M05, to vII to pretty much an r). But thought it would be fun to build another.

Speaking of,
has anyone driven an M06, how does it compare to the M05? I get its rear wheel, -does the rear want to spin out like an f1? I've seen some interesting vid's w/ M06's beating M05's on YouTube. I've always assumed the M05 was the better handling and performing car ...is that assumption still true?

I do think the M06 has an interesting looking design, which appears to have a lower center of gravity (than the M05)
