Has anyone tried cutting the waterfall and installing a fan over the motor? I don't want to weaken the brace and I can't find anyone that makes one for the SC6. Thanks

The waterfall brace GIHOSU found on shapeways is perfect for the SC6. I have bought other RC parts from designers on shapeways and the parts are excellent.

Thanks GIHOSU I am going to order one of these.

My pleasure to share that link with you guys. I think I first saw it a while ago and it was in the beta stage. I didn’t need it so I waited. Packfan’s post about cutting the waterfall for a fan jogged my memory. I have chopped up a few waterfalls in my day. Running on turf is making me think I need a few of those. It should bolt right in and do its job, the white plastic is the way I am thinking of going. At this point I put it on my Christmas list so she has something easy to get for me.

I have a Shapeways Mini-Z body that has great material qualities and after a little help it looked great and it performed much better than expected.

Thanks again my friend. Shapeways is a great way for people to design and produce their creations. I have a front bumper/skid from BRC via shapeways for my YZ4. It's a great part as its stronger, attaches via 4 screws over the kits 2 screw skid. Thus it seals the front diff and secures the front hinge pin brace nice and tight.

You’re all too welcome, the strong & flexible plastic they shoot is just fine for structural pieces. I will drill and tap the screw holes for the fan and chassis screws as per recommendations and I have an idea for adding a bit of bracing to shore up the strength of the SW waterfall

You lucked out on the YZ4 bumper, someone had your needs in mind.

I am having a bit of fun prepping for a turf race tomorrow, it is nice how I can put my shocks on the front of the rear arms on my SC6 so easily. I may have to hack up my RM RT6 body to set up the ST that way...

Does anyone know what parts it takes to put a laydown tranny in the sc6?

I have one in mine, just takes the laydown gear box housings and motor plate and a few new holes in the chassis. I used my rb6.6 chassis as a template. Also i had to file my suspension block since i didn't feel like buying the new version. Only thing is that with the laydown, the side gaurds are a bit in the way when it comes to pinion and spur changes. Speaking of, I cut my side gaurds to fit a shorty sideways, i didnt mill the chassis, as i needed to add weight under the battery anyway.

Hey, does anyone know if the Readyset shocks from the RTR version are the same as the kit shocks (minus the gold anodized collars and bleeder screws)? I can get a set cheap and want to experiment a little on a build I did. Any help would be appreciated.

I managed to find the exploded view of both shocks. Not the same. The lack of Velvet coating wouldn't be a deal breaker, but I see that there is no bottom cartridge and some internal parts are different. Looks like they're an aluminum version of the RB6 RS shock. And they show 50 mm shafts on both ends, rather than the kit's 50 mm front, 58 mm rear. Hmmm
