Speaking of, I cut my side gaurds to fit a shorty sideways, i didnt mill the chassis, as i needed to add weight under the battery anyway.
3 gear or 4?

Default looking for mip outdrives

My son and I have both switched over to the SC6 and love how it handles on out local indoor track. mine came with a mip ball diff and i lost the pads on the axles and destroyed a outdrive. If you have one or more new or used I am looking for one and a couple more for spares if you have stopped using them.I am hoping some one has a few in there spares and have stoped using mip. Kyosho Ultima SC/RB5/RB6 MIP/Super Diff Female Outdrive MIP12160 shoot me a pm

I got mine worked out well for turf leaving the 4 gear and ball diff alone. It had some beast moments and I was happy with my results from the turf tracks up in CT with a 5th at RCHR and 4th at Hobby Hangout. What pleased me was how few changes I needed to make it work on turf. I have some ideas for my next turf setup after I switch her back to dirt duty.

Some LD boxes and parts should be at my LHS by now. Now I am glad I haven’t been able to get my 6.6 built.

I may need another SC6

I have always used a ball diff in my SC6 however I am thinking about try a gear diff. Any recommendations on what weight diff oil works well for a med bite hard packed dirt/clay mix. Track is treated thus the traction is higher than one would think being it has a 80 percent dirt 20 percent clay mix.

Anyhow running mod 7.5t midship 4 gear alum idlers with Yok triple slipper. Again I really have no idea what weight diff oil to start with. Will be using PT diff oil if that matters. My attempted drive style always is to try be smooth on the throttle as trying to be aggressive with the throttle always leads to me making mistakes. Also want to try the gear diff just due to the need for rebuilding do to wear being needed far less often than a ball diff.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Norse, try 2k to start.

Way back in the day, when the Kyosho SC was released as a rtr I ran associated black grease in it.

Hey Kraig,

Thank you my friend. I will definitely build the gear diff with 2k.

Thanks again for the advice

Should I try the Kyosho diff grease. Not sure if the gave 2k but they may as i believe they have various weights. Or should I stick with diff oil?

I was wondering about running the aluminum idler gears with the aluminum top shaft, does that work ok or will it destroy the top shaft? I run a gear diff and the slipper doesn't work to good with a 8.5 so I have to tighten it down and it strips the idler gears, was gonna try the avid slipper or schelle, what do you think?

Use to own a SC6 a few years back and miss it, one kit I wished I never sold. One has come up in the classifieds that I am considering getting. Is there tall about a new SC6.6 coming following the RB6/ZX6.6?
