Jason, I'm one of the many who are waiting for the 05 Xray chassis. How will you be milling the battery slots now that the GP3700s are out?
Thanks.

Default Protc3....

how about some 3mm CF titanium color shock towers for the TC4? One with a black delrin brace like the Square units? That would be nice! Would anyone else like them for carpet?

same driving style. This may or may not work for you.
Thanks for the setup. I was going to ask you for a setup
since I just picked up a BMI TC4 chassis(actually first time
with TC4).This will give me a place to start. Hope it works
at the Horsham track too.

RcMonk,

The setup between the Nats and Horsham is extremely close.

From the Horsham to Hobby Chamber, I changed the following things...

#1. Stiffer front Sway Bar
( Horsham was the .055 Black Bar )
( Hobby Chamber was the .078 Gold Bar )

#2. Anti-Dive
( Horsham, I ran all the arm mounts flat to the chassis )
( Hobby Chamber, I ran a #2 shim under the O block up front for 2 degrees of Anti-Dive )

#3. Droop
( Horsham, I normally run 1mm droop up front and 1mm droop in rear )
( Hobby Chamber, I ran 5mm droop up front and 4mm droop in rear )

That's basically all I changed from track to track. That made it easy to concentrate on learning the track. The car was really good. If anything, you might find the car push a little. That is tunable with tire traction and roll center adjustments. I am gonna change the bar back for Horsham though.

Hope this helps. Anyone else, fire away.

Later,

Jason ( no, not BMI Jason )

Jason, Why are you always sooo fast... I noticed you were using grape jelly for traction compound, is that your secret. Great weekend for you. Now people are seeing you are for real, keep it up

Default Grape Jelly

Dude, don't give away all my secrets.

And thanks for the vote of confidence. I don't get the chance to go to all the big races due to work. If I ask for more time off, they probably won't let me come back.

I really wanna hit up Cleveland and Vegas, but that is gonna be tough. Especially with summer coming up and I race my STi too.

Here's the funny part. Racing my real car is cheaper than R/C!!! And I am not kidding.

Later,

Jason

Default Sad part is...

You know that out there....somewhere....somebody is going to try using Grape Jelly for traction compound.

and they'll probably blame YOU if it doesn't work!

If someone actually tries Grape Jelly for traction compound, they shouldn't be racing R/C cars.

And mmmmmmmmmm, Grape Jelly. I'm gonna go make me a PB&J sammich.

Yeah, that's not much that you changed there. I'll have to stop by your pit to talk after I put the car together next week. Thanks man.

Hey Stevie,

Your racing career is far from over. If you got the Jelly to work, you gotta show me. And I wasn't use Jelly, I was using preserves. There's a difference.

And where's Doc? You gotta teach him how to drive.
