I got some upcoming races on black carpet which will be using either the tamiya tcs tires or the CRC F1 tires! Which tires or tire combo should I use? I think the tcs tires are rebranded 571/572's but I'm not sure
Thanks

TCS and CRC tires are the same tires as Pit 571/572. I would glue the outer sidewalls of both the front and rear tires if racing on black carpet.

I haven't "run" them yet, but they sure look good!

I know, I'm no help - but F1 class hasn't really picked up where I race. The front wing looks very similar to the Serpent, I think. It is fairly flexible, unlike most Tamiya wings, but they are thick and seem like they would be decently sturdy. The front wing is designed to work with any of the PF bodies. Depending on body, you either do/don't use the "raised nose" portion of the front wing.

I've mounted them, but havent hit the track with them yet. The front wing is overall slightly narrower than the Tamiya wings, so maybe slightly less downforce potential. The front plane is also lower than any Tamiya wing so it may cause some scraping or dragging depending on your setup or track surface.

The rear wing is wider but lower than any of the Tamiya wings (even at its highest position). It doesn't have any adjustments, but you can remove a section of it for lower downforce. I particulatly like that it uses 1.5mm hex hardware instead of the Phillips flathead.

Overall very nice pieces, as alternatives to the Tamiya or X-ray wings. They seem to be pretty compatible with pretty much most or all the bodies out there.

I tried their website but couldn't find a downloadable copy of the R3 manual. I'll check when I get home if I still have it and maybe scan it for you.

3) if the track was bumpy, try 35wt in the center shock, and a softer shock spring
4) put more preload on the side spring, so the rear axle stays in contact with the ground in turns

Overall, going to much more caster in the front will probably make the biggest difference. Once you go to more caster, you might want to move the steering inline.

It's a neat car with many adjustments.

One more thing, make sure the caster and camber are equal left to right by measuring each respective turnbuckles end to end.
I followed your setup and added a lot more caster and moved the steering inline...the car drives a lot better. Never had so much fun with my F1. Thanks Bill and thanks Mike for this amazing kit.

Built my F1R3 last week and got my first chance to run it yesterday. Managed to score second for the day in our points series. It still needs a bit more dialing in, but it has some awesome potential and is so easy to drive.

Its just a Novak Boss 25.5 We run 25.5 to keep the guys running TCS specs to be legal. However this is just the only 25.5 I had back from running VTA. I didn't feel anything was left on the table by running the Novak motor, as my fastest lap was only .06 slower than the winner for the day. Being that this was my first time out with it, I'm very happy with how it went.
