A bunch of guys are running them here, especially for carpet season. 2 have been no good almost right from the word go. It seems that if they last the first day you are all set, but that's not guaranteed. Going to see if the warranty process is worth the effort.

My order came in (Outlaw 17.5t) and I am pretty impressed with the quality! This thing has some strong magnets! The motor should run pretty cool with all the cooling holes. Can't wait to get a chance to run it!

It'll run cool if it's efficient. If not, the cooling holes won't help much.

After first race with the new Outlaw 17.5t, have to say it's pretty snappy! I have it VERY conservatively geared for a novice racer but can turn laps my T5M runs with a 13.5t or pretty close at least! NICE bang for the buck to be sure! BIG

If the layout is open and flowy and you can keep your speed up, maybe go with a bit larger pinion and/or more can timing.
If the layout is tight and you spend a lot of time getting back up to speed and/or there's a jump that you really need low end grunt for, maybe stay closer to the 70/29 and a little lower timing.

I would start around 70/31 - 70/29.

Hi all,
I have two issues on my trackstar 120A esc gen II paired with a V2 10.5t motor :
Firstly the brakes can't be fine tuned. Whether on the esc program or the D/R on the brakes basically at 90% brakes I have too much brake and at 89% and below is almost doesn't brake anymore. As if there was a huge step difference just at a precise spot. I tried setting the brakes at 100% on the esc and setting up on the transmitter as well as setting the brake power only on the esc. I reseted the esc to factory settings etc.
Secondly and that took me a while to figure the problem as the car would mysteriously shut down while driving :
If I hold the brake trigger on my transmitter for more than 3 seconds the esc shuts down (regardless of the moment in the practice). Any idea why ?
The car is well geared it doesn't go beyond 70° for the motor 45°ish for the esc and 40° for the battery and I have plenty power with a yz2 on carpet with my 10.5t.
thanks in advance
Jonathan

Okay I solved it. I updated the firmware and both problem have gone completely.
The only thing I had trouble with was to connect the thing to my computer.
The correct order for anyone who'd have to go through this is :
-connect esc to the battery
-connect physically the prog box to the esc
-switch the esc on
-connect electronically the esc to the prog box (by entering the esc settings)
-plug the usb cable to the computer and the prog box.
-start the trackstar usb program on your computer.
-it will ask to update.

Got a chance to run it at the club this week. The brake issue I had has definitely gone with the update. But I still have the trigger problem as when I apply the brake more than 3 seconds the esc turns off (even with the car standing still). Any ideas ?

I have a toro ts120 which share the same hardware design with track star and use slightly different software. Even the toro pc link would work with track star 120a gen ii.
3 sec brake shut down is just a feature of the software. Nothing wrong.
