Most often, I've seen people breaking them when they're wrenching them down. With three, they only need to be barely tight, just enough to hold it in place.

I don't feel like mine were really that tight... but I would stop after a run and the strap would be cut/broken where it meets the chassis. I don't pull on them hard, just enough so the battery isn't moving around. :/

3 in 1 week is too many though...

I would check and make sure there are no sharp edges on the battery tray where the straps go thru. Use some light sandpaper or a hobby knife and round the edges of the plastic a bit. also make sure you are using both front slots or both rear, if you put the strap thru both outside slots then your battery will be sliding back and forth and may put extra stress on the straps.

I started using Losi straps and haven't broken any. The tekno straps seem to get weakened very easily leading to them tearing.

I've been running the tekno straps in some form or another for almost 2 years now. I've never had one break. I would remove that side pod, and check for any sharp edges.

hmm... same, my sct hasn't had any issues.. but my eb broke 3 this week. I took it off after the first time and tried to round down the edges (they looked fine), i bought some mugen straps from the lhs to get me through the day, but they are only the short straps. ill take off the side again and rub it down again and see whats going on.... cause it does seem like its getting cut by the side, but its rounded.. so i don't understand how?!? haha

How are you cleaning your car after a race weekend ? Are the straps getting wet at all when cleaning car ?

The car is less than a month old, but I did get it wet one time when I cleaned it.... My sct was cleaned the same way and hasn't had an issue. The 2s are lighter, but I'm still baffled that 3 straps broke this week.

I run 3 EB's (Race, practice, Spouse) and 1 ET. I broke 6 sets of straps over time before I stopped tightening them down so much and now they never break, go figure.
