Kyosho Ultima SC6 Thread.......

Anybody have any experience running the Kyosho White Rear Springs (XGS035)? My rear shocks are Gold Springs/AE 30 oil/5 hole pistons. I wonder if the white springs will induce more body roll? I am looking to see if I can increase rear traction a bit. I just installed the Kyosho 3 gear standup transmission and am doing some fine tuning. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had the 4 gear standup before and the truck was dialed in with the gold springs. After changing to the 3 gear standup, I like the feel of the truck, but I might have lost a little rear grip. It could have been the drier/dustier track conditions last night as when I drove the car on Monday (first time with the 3 gear standup and track was definitely not as dry/dusty), the truck was dialed in and I could not tell the difference in rear traction. Lap times were slightly faster with the 3 gear standup for me as well. I might just pickup the white springs and try it out. Good to have options to deal with the track conditions.

I appreciate the help. If you have any other suggestions per rear end set up that would be great as well.

3rd hole out from inner part on shock tower shock to a arm is in the middle hole with the shock bases on the inner position on the a arm. Inner bullhead camber link all the way in at hole 1 with .5mm spacer under ball stud . 5mm spacer under ball stud on c hub. 1.6 front 40 weight AE , springs off hand I am un sure on however they are more firm than stock fronts Front wheel camber at -.5 with toe out at 1 degree. Kick up at 30 degree with extra 2 degree caster inserts. The track is very rough, some fairly big jumps, a very long straight, lots of elevation changes as well as technical with some very tight 180 turns all on a very hard packed outdoor dirt track. The extra kick up and caster seam to really calm down the front but I think that may be causin some push. I think I have to much front end droop as well.
I appreciate the help. If you have any other suggestions per rear end set up that would be great as well.

I have been running them for a while now, they went on my stock truck and then on my mod truck. Both of them are now just above 2100g. I like them and they do give a good amount roll. When I lightened my stock truck to the limit I had to switch to pink buggy rear springs and that thing is better than my mod now. Stock is F – white/1.6x2/450cst R – pink/1.7x2/300cst and mod is F – white/1.6 + 1.1/500cst R – white/1.7 + 1.1/350cst. Recently the stock ESC went on a shelf above the battery to get more roll and it helped.

You might want to try calming down the front in a different way by doing the following:
FRONT
Front Shock Tower: 4th hole out
Front Arm Shock Position: All the way out towards wheels
Spacers under ball studs: 1mm
Kickup: 25
Caster Inserts: 0
Camber: -2
Toe: 0 degrees
Steering Bar: Reverse position / no spacers under ball studs

REAR

Rear Arm Shock Position: #2 hole
Rear Bulkhead: #1 hole / 1mm spacer
Rear Hub: #4 hole / 2mm spacer
Anti-squat: 1 degree
Camber: -2
Toe: 3.5
Hope this helps you out...

Anyone have any rear end sets ups per mid config running on a very hard packed outdoor dirt track. Bite low but when damp its med. High speed straight, lots of elevation changes and technical as well with of camber turns, big wall ride and fairly good sized jumps. I have .5 alu rear hubs and the rear rear front brass hanger. Currently D in D in which I think I may need to go wider. OH running mod 6.5 with end bell timing dialed back a tad.
Thanks again RBK and thanks to anyone whon has any set up advice per they above.

Running a Reedy Mach3 7.0...
I tried the Kyosho White Springs (XGS035) today and the truck seemed to have slightly better rear traction (forward bite). I will be doing some more testing over the next couple of days to confirm.

My mod truck needs more forward and side bite, my stock truck was faster yesterday on a new and loose but very fun track. I am thinking of going to Pink rear springs on the mod truck next and go back to lighter oils.
The way you have your body mounted has me thinking, it seems way forward after I got some improvement running a body further back. Your body is super low and I like that.
