Car has a Savox servo and a Traxxas receiver--all else is from the kit.

Anyone have any ideas? I think I may need a Glitchbuster but I've never used one.

Thanks
One time I had this problem and it turned out I damaged the antenna wire by accidentally closing the receiver casing on it.

Savox servos are known for causing brown outs. I use a glitch buster in all my vehicles.
Amain has one for $5

Kalio and iVTEC4LIFE,

Thanks -- I'll check the antenna and get a Glitchbuster.

Hello folks long story short I was cleaning out my garage and ran into my rc10b4.1 rtr that I bought 5 years ago and want to have fun with it again.

Im not really interested in tracking it anymore although who knows I might end up there. Mainly want to toy around with it mainly on asphalt although I'm sure I'll run into grass dirt whatever.

Would appreciate some recommendations on motor esc setup as well as gearing. I love speed and will be racing some buddies, with that said I don't want the thing overheating and blowing up, looking for reliability. Budget isn't an issue although I'm sure competition parts aren't necessary for my purpose, if y'all feel it is well then it is and I'll go with that haha.

Any other suggestions regarding toughening it up a bit, tires. Also maybe a new servo( savox 1258?), controller?
Any feedbacks appreciated thanks

Rcbrah,

Hobbyking has a Sportsman ESC that is ROAR approved for $28, the matching programmer is $15, their 17.5 motors are about $40. Pick up a faster servo, some Blockades for the back and ribs for the front with closed cell foam of a medium stiffness. Finally, start with the factory setup, assemble your car with precision and care and you will have a competitive runner.

You also might consider a Novak Edge ESC and a Ballistic motor - good stuff.

better late than never I guess...but yes it will fit the chassis as long as you use velcros, that is what I do too for practice. Since the RTR body is a few milimeters shorter, if you still use clips with your FT, the hole on the RTR body for the clip that attaches on the rear shock tower won't be aligned properly because of the +8mm chassis. Just get rid of the bodyclips, shave the bulge on the rear shock tower(and remove that ugly front screw too!) if you haven't done it already and never look back!

Will the big bore shocks fit directly on the RTR B4.2 without any modifications or extra parts?

Just bought a b4.2 used "like new" and it's got a broken hex key stuck in one of the screws on the bottom of the buggy, any ideas how to get this out?

Use a dremel cut-off wheel and cut a slot in the head to fit a flat head screwdriver.

SuperBoots - Dremel with a small cut-off wheel.

If you have V2 big bores you will need new upper shock mount bushings. The original ones will be too small.

You should be good with the ones currently on your car.

Easiest way would be to use a dremel and cutoff wheel to get a little notch in there so you can turn it out with a flat blade screw driver. Be careful not to nick the chassis, the grove doesn't have to be deep.

Other option would be to drill and use an E-Z out extractor.

*edit* whoa, I see I was waaay late on that response
